That was probley the most accurate thing i have every heard. No manure spreader is perfect for all jobs. In experience however a vertical chain floor spreader is the most versatile option. It can be used for every thing from hualing heavy compost to Chicken litter and with the right hardware also can be used for spreading lime and hualing silage. My preferred spreaders are push off spreaders however because you get a more even spread.

Appreciate the comment. I am looking for something to spread wood ash and dry lime, so that helps.

I've heard there's not an equipment dealer around that will stand behind a manure spreader, so if you buy one I guess you're on you own !!!

You do get alot people who abuse them by spreading lots of rocks and loading them way over capacity and running as fast as they can throught the feild. I have seen a few leave the ground with a load. I dont understand spending the money and then destroying it like that. But to each there own.
