i have a friend with this same racket. iv'e always done a two piece because that's what he wanted. i did this box without him knowing it and showed it to him and he was thrilled. now he wants it done this way from now on. thanks to you and your vid. like you said, for this racket it just fits it.

(with 18M) If you start at the head, you can leave three open, but I'd only do it if you have two main skips on the T and H. If you start at the throat, leave two open and you can do it with one OR two main skips at the H and T. I know there are a few, but I can only think of the N6-2, ALL O3 racquets, Fischer Pro1 FT... etc.

I just strung a Wilson Hammer 6.2 using this pattern, but in order to tie off, I ended up with ridiculous long cross-overs (my last main was h5 and the tie-off was at the other h5, and my last cross was the fourth (bottom) which I tied off a the second cross (bottom)). Do you have to widen grommets, and if so, which ones? You say that on your racket, there are no cross-overs. How is that possible (what about tie-offs)?

Is it optimal to have the string changing direction 270 degrees so many times. Is it not hard on the racquet?

I absolutely love this box pattern, it's the best, thank you so much YULitle ;D

I have Wilson Tour 90, new version of same racquet in your video, same string pattern. I had to slightly widen grommet 4 to tie off the main. Is that where you tie off too?
@hellojeffo15 жыл бұрын
yes it works perfectly.. and I always use it on the k90.. looks really neat
@YULitle16 жыл бұрын
You often have to widen grommets. Doing this allows for no cross overs on this racquet. Some racquets may have crossovers, but they should be minimal if you widen grommets.
@YULitle16 жыл бұрын
If it would work, then yes, 4 on each side. What makes it work is that the racquet has pairs of main-skips on all four corners, and the mains have to normally end at the top (when strung "normally")

is there a difference when do a hybrid stringing on the kpro staff? do you follow the same box pattern?

I have an racket from somewhere in the 1980s-1990s. Its an Prince Graphite Comp XL Mid Plus. The string pattern is 14X18. So any idea if this can be box pattern, and if so, how many main do i start off with? 4 main on each side?
@YULitle16 жыл бұрын
It is useful for any racquet that has 16 mains, two skips and starts at the throat. :D
@gdeangelkick4 жыл бұрын
You should put this in the video description.

Any racquet actually. You always start your box at the top and depending you can start your box with a main or a cross. This is so you can string the rest of the racquet top to bottom after you finish with the boxes. There are 2 cases - same evens or odds or case 2 different evens and odd. Case a (same): 6 holes in the throat (odd pairs) and first skip 7 (odd) Or 8 holes in the throat (even pairs) and first skip is 8 (even) Start first box with a main (above example) Case b (different): 6 holes in the throat (odd pair) but first skip is even (8 hole) Or 8 holes in the throat (even pair) but first skip is odd (7 string) Then you start your box pattern with a cross. Those are the 4 mathematical possibilities and now you have the solution to whatever you pattern is Examples of case a: 1) prostaff k90 - shown above (6 in the throat and first skip is 7 - both odd that's why he started with a main) 2) head radical Graphene 16×19. It has 8 holes in the throat and skip 8 string - both even - same scenario you start just like the video with a main. You have to watch where you finish the short side though! If you "start" the box with a main you leave that same main on the other open so you can install it from long side. If you start with a cross them you will have to install one extra main from short side. Example: your first skip is 7 string so on both sides you string till main 6 and leave the outer two(for a 16 main) or 3(for a 18main) mains open on both sides. This is i important not t mess up. And yeah if you have shared holes you cannot do a box pattern like some head speed and instinct racquets. Also if you have different amount of skips head and throat its not gonna work either (some fan patterns)

is this the classic box pattern or Wilson box?
@jonvdw16 жыл бұрын
So this pattern is only useful with Wilson 6.1 rackets?
@Ruiz197116 жыл бұрын
When do you decide to use this scheme instead of the classic one? And why? Are there important reason behind this choiche?
@Sokeresa4 жыл бұрын
Not really. It is just a "cool" way because there is no cross overs
@SincereSorrow7 жыл бұрын
Should make a video on 3x3 box pattern.
@jonvdw16 жыл бұрын
How do you decide how many mains to leave open when you're stringing a racket with 18 mains? Do you know any modern rackets that have mains that end at the head?
@Sokeresa4 жыл бұрын
Volkl and head radical end I the head
@tonyhuynh738114 жыл бұрын
Hey, if there are no crossovers, how do you do the tie offs for the short side?
@Sokeresa4 жыл бұрын
You tie on the very next string and that way you have no cross over, just next to each other strings
@gefhspiral16 жыл бұрын
yoo man would the same effect be possible with federers latest racquets? the kfactors? thanks c yaaaa
@alexdafoodraider16 жыл бұрын
Thanks, but I figure out that its actually 5 main on each side on this racket though.
@jonvdw16 жыл бұрын
You say that it looks nice on the outside because there are no crossovers, but you do have 2 loops next to each other on two places (tie-offs), don't you?
@YULitle16 жыл бұрын
Well, I covered that in the video. But, the outer mains and crosses are more consistent this way and the crossovers on the outside of the racquet are more neat(non-existent actually.) I only do this pattern on my racquet. I wouldn't do it on a customer's unless they asked for it.
@YULitle16 жыл бұрын
Yes, but those are not cross overs.
@davidglover92105 жыл бұрын
If you really want to know how to string a racquet properly there's a video of the swiss davis cup coach stringing , This pattern is a joke. All you will do is ruin your racquet.
