These two breeds are often bred to 'tame' the potential aggressiveness of the Pit with the docility of the Boxer without changing the appearance of the Pit too much. It's like a taller/leaner Pit with a wider muzzle. The side-effect is a very powerful dog with a very high energy level. Some homeowners associations do not allow Pit Bulls, so the Boxer/Pit is the 'loophole' to allow a Pit in the community. All in all, it's a great combination.
