Simply using the shape of the hole and positioning the key to match it. There is only two slots. One perfectly matchs the 'L' shaped and there's only one other, so the rest have to be on top of each other. I had the 'L' part facing the wrong way at first so just switched it to the opposite side to match the keyhole.
