Thank you for taking the time to "translate" the note 🙂. My mom recently passed away, leaving behind PILES of finely crocheted thread doilies and other decorative items given to her by my grandma. As a recent crocheter myself, I have a whole new respect for the time and effort put into these intricate pieces.

Hi Alex, Those two boy and girl dolls are not Polish, it's a set of Ukrainian dolls dressed in Ukrainian national clothes made in Kyiv in 1940-50 at the "Pobeda" (Victory) toy factory.

Yes, easily recognizable as Ukrainian (especially as there is a large Ukrainian population in and around Edmonton, and in beautiful condition. I didn't find the last house he and Patrick emptied out very interesting, but I would love to go through this one myself; so many real treasures in it. :)

I’m astounded and in love with all the treasures so far and I could watch this forever! I must say I’m a bit jealous of Melissa for having the opportunity to clean and dress those precious babies! The Vanity Theatre is my favorite! Never have I seen so such an unusual piece and I want it!! Also, the little doll with the skates from 1955, I was 4 going on 5 in that same year when I got my first set of skates that attached to your shoes and were tightened with a skate key! Anyone else remember the pain from them being too tight?! Did you ignore and continue to skate?! Me too ❣️

Yes, one of the notes he was trying to read said hand-crocheted shawl or something like that. Perhaps the owner made those items herself. I guess I shouldn't assume it was a woman. Men have been known to crochet or knit too. But the handwriting seems feminine.

The first tiny doll in yellow looks like a Ginny doll....still made today! The black doll is very nice....they can be worth quite a bit!!

All this stuff was at a hoarders house. It goes to show you that the things that you collect either end up in a dumpster or an estate junk sale and someone unrelated to you will just sell it. I am trying to eliminate my clutter and I have seen it so many times where someone will have this collection of things that are important to them, but the next person to become the owner of it will either trash it or flip it and have no emotional attachment like you do with it. In the end, your collection is really only important to you.

In the '40s, we eagerly waited for the Sears 'wish book' - the Christmas catalog with all the toys- When it finally came, my brother and I would lie on the floor and linger over each wonder, for hours. Great time of the year to experience the same feelings while you unpack the boxes. Thank you

Alexander, do NOT push on the eyes! Bad boy! That is an Armand Marseille German bisque name doll. If you force the eyes they can break away from inside the head. Granted, the doll is not super high value but one needs to be careful or the value will be compromised. Doll collectors just heaved a collective gasp of horror. Dear boy, please be careful,lol. 😂

That antique doll from 1910 will give me nightmares for weeks😳 my grandma was an antique doll collector and when I was little, she used to make me sleep in her doll room. I’m still scarred 😂 I was absolutely terrified during my nights at her house.

Alex have you heard of the channel "Chip Channel " ? This guy takes old metal vehicles are restores them to original factory colors and decals. It's amazing what he does , considering some are like 99% rusted out and messed up. Fun to watch. He never talks but there is sound so you can hear his tools and he never shows his face....at least I never have seen him. He's very intertaining at the start of his video's. I am always awed at what he does with them toys.

This Lady was an amazing collector not only did she label everything. Then she would put each item in plastic bags in order to preserve them as well as possible. Then to have some of there original boxes as well. I’m truly in awe by her collection. You have been blessed to be able to get these items. So that you can pass them on to the next amazing collector’s collection. I truly hope you go back to get more boxes. I’m also glad you explained that you bought the boxes without seeing what was inside of them. I was so confused watching the 1st video. Why you were saying things as if you hadn’t seen them.
