I had this a draw.. Fury took rounds 4,7,8,9,10,11 in my opinion. Fury seemed to dominate large chunks of the fight but the first 5 rounds with the exception of 4 seemed to be in Wallin’s favour, he found clever/risky ways inside after Fury would miss shots and multiplied his jab to push Fury back into the ropes. Wallin had a good guard when fighting at range and when in the centre of the ring but would slip his head/step to the inside of Fury’s frame as a fighter from opposite stances (which is risky) to throw the overhand left cross that left a Buck-50 on Fury’s eye where it remained an issue all the way thru to the decision leaving Fury needing 47 stitches to close the gash after. By the 12th round though, Wallin seemed to find a second wind and flustered Fury, rocking the fading and bloodied lineal champion with a right jab.. Wallin is one tough customer that’s shown to have good endurance, he’s more of a dog than AJ it seems but if the same form of AJ who whooped Charles Martin shows up against Wallin then who knows what’ll happen.. from what I’ve seen over the years though honestly is Wallin just being a bigger,tougher version of Usyk with a still crafty but messier game.

The cut itself isn't what stops a fight. It all comes down to if you can prevent it from getting worse, and if you're actually still being competitive in the fight and winning rounds. They will stop a fight if you're cut badly and you're losing, but if you're continuing to fight well, preventing it from becoming worse and winning rounds referees don't really like stopping a fight with a championship on the line, they really try to avoid it when they can.

I came to rewatch this fight in preparation for Fury vs Usyk. I like them both. Unfortunately the data now means very little for me one way or the other now after remembering Wallin literally trying to thumb the cut as the ref was breaking them up. What the actual fuck. Some of the dirtiest shit I've seen, right up there with biting ears. Fight should have ended right there with a fine and suspension.
