Great honesty as always from smigger. The Abraham fight was daylight robbery, he should have been speaking as a former World Champion.
@MAC-mo9cj4 жыл бұрын
Maybe so but I think Abraham took Smith lightly in the first fight and he proved it in the second bout when he beat Smith handily.
@markmac64684 жыл бұрын
@@MAC-mo9cj maybe so but what's that got to do with the scoring? There was an argument for a narrow victory to Abraham, a draw or a smith victory. The score cards were shocking and as a boxing fan I can't accept that.
@MAC-mo9cj4 жыл бұрын
@@markmac6468 opinions mate, but which fight do u mean? Your even saying yourself there 'there was an argument for a narrow victory to Abraham, a draw, or a Smith victory, then your saying the scorecards were shocking, which fight do u mean surly u can't mean the second fight it was almost a shutout, and the first fight didn't shock me it was close but definitely weren't shocking to me an I watched that fight live myself.
@markmac64684 жыл бұрын
@@MAC-mo9cj the first fight. What I'm saying is i would entertain an argument for a narrow Abraham victory, although I would disagree as I felt Smith did enough, but the score cards did not the reflect the fight which made the decision stink of bias. I saw smigger a few days/week after the fight and he felt he did enough, he's an honest boxer.

As a former London Irish fella(Irish ☘️parents from County Kerry,raised in a family of 8 and my old man was a big Boxing fan,..just a little boring background there!)who has lived in the US for nearly 21 yrs,and for most of that time I've been living in Las Vegas. So with that said,I have to say this is one of the most interesting interviews(honest and sincere one's)I've watched in a long time. And a little side note,a former neighbor of mine,a really decent hard-working guy(a Ironworker)he was really into his Sports and his son is now a well known Pro Baseball player(,Bryce Harper,(and I know sweet f##k all about that Sport) But I mention this because at the time of"The contender"series,he happened to mention to me how he rated the Brit fighter from Liverpool(and that was before I saw any of the series!). .But in closing I have great respect for this family and their achievements. Not just for their "Prize fighting" exploits but because they always mentioned their "Autistic"sister and how proud they were of her! and obviously this resonated because my youngest sister also has this disability... So i will apologise for the ramble.. and I'm wishing everyone a cross the Pond good health and stay safe in these challenging times👍

There's a fair amount of top notch quality boxing content out there right now from people who truly understand the sport. This channel is clearly among the very best of them. There's also a lot of poor quality stuff available - some of which bizarrely [for me anyway] have more views/subscribers than this.

am typing all this before i have even watched this. I have always liked Paul Smith from first time i seen him from contender days ,he might have not been one of the best boxers Britain has produced . but had a big heart just like the character rocky who his colours was based on . had his world title robbed from him with the abraham 1 fight, 2 great domestic dust ups with dodson (fight one especially with smiths warrior instincs ), I really don't like degale and was disappointed when he lost that one. groves I quite like him. but smith nearly knocked him out of the ring early on and bell went . smith gets hurt and he was hurt but felt he deserved a bit more time to recover. froch was hurt worse in there fight one and look how all that turned out but i guess just some things are not meant to be . he is always emotional and pumped up when watching his brothers . he seems more nervous then he was fighting lol. its Nice to hear from him on sky sports commentary from time to time as in my opinion sky sports shouldn't have anyone else but ex or present pro boxers commentating who know what they are talking about. also I wish the judges could have some form of boxing experience because I bet you them scores wouldn't be fantasy sland ones what we seem to be getting just a lately but anyway I hope he gets into training side of things as with his all experience and knowledge . has a lot to pass on. all the best Paul 👍

@BagofDreams3 жыл бұрын
@@JSL2000 do people get blocked for absolutely nothing?
@JSL20003 жыл бұрын
@@BagofDreams In his case, yes they do. Paul has absolutely hacked off a huge amount of people by his own erratic behaviour online. Posting stupid stuff about trans people, making sexist remarks, blocking his own fans for just replying to posts as he's on a power trip etc. Doesn't help himself at all. He's right about advising upcoming Boxers about staying away from twitter. It makes him look a right twat. Thing is, he's obviously a decent guy. But why he has to be such a knob online is beyond me.

Thanks for this tris. Paul's been me favourite fighter from way back when he just came on the pro scene,been irish we've got are fair share of fighters back then to admire and adore,steve collins bernard dunne jim rock etc but i was taken to paul first time i seen him fight. Had the pleasure of meeting him at anfield a few times,been star struck and talked shit tryna hold a convo with him probably walking away thinking jesus christ there's 10 minutes of me life gone 🤣 I'll sign off with this,we've all watched fights where someone's lost a fight and being bias said he's lost but that abraham fight,when people ask me or if im in a boxing convo about losses,bad decisions etc i always say that smig was robbed v abraham,he could of won every round 10-8 and the judge's would still have given abraham the decision. He's champ in my eyes. Enjoy retirement smig 😁
