The thing is, Sultan spent the majority of this fight running away and refusing to fight offensively, Klitschko isn’t going to look good against a man who’s refusing to come forward and fight him - it reminds me a lot of the Haye fight in the way his opposition refused to engage.

i had high hopes for ibragimov going into this fight. he didn't make much a showing unfortunately but whatever. it's not that important ultimately. he made his mark, he's one of the great boxers in dagestan history so anyway

Ibragimov was a great fighter but let himself down here. it was Lewis v Tua all over again. Easy win for klitschko but it shouldnt have been

I saw someone comment that this was the worst fight they've ever seen. I skimmed through but yeah it's not great. Emmanuel Steward was trying though

Well it was not Klitschko´s fault. Ibragimov was decent, he beat Briggs and Holyfield. Also take in mind that he employed Jeff Mayweather who was known for his defensive / cautious boxing.

Well it is not entirely truth. German television RTL just gave both Klitschko brothers deal that surpassef everything at that time. They were basically greatest boxing icons in Germany back then, since Max Schmeling.

Man schaue sich Schwergewichts Boxkämpfe aus früheren Zeiten an, speziell die Ära der grossen US Boxer wie Ali, Foremann, Frazier etc, dann erscheinen solche Boxkämpfe als reines Geplänkel, mit Boxen hat das nur noch wenig zu tun. Schnelles Ausweichen und schnelle Beine sind sehr wichtig beim Boxen, das Boxen sollte aber den Hauptpart des Kampfes darstellen. Solche Kämpfe sind keine Werbung für den Boxsport und haben mit diesem auch rein gar nichts zu tun.
