The thing about Canelo is that anytime I've seen him step back on the scale the night of the fight he has rehydrated to between 166-170 lbs. Golovkin consistently weighs in around 170-172lbs rehydrated. So they're basically the same size when they step in the ring. I can't imagine that Canelo could possibly feel more comfortable cutting 15 lbs to make 155 than he would making the easy cut to 160. Seems to me like the catcheight is more about weakening GGG than about Canelo feeling better at the weight.

canelo rehydrates to a heavier weight than GGG. GGG also defends the IBF strap so he can not rehydrate more than 10 lbs fight night. i actually think Canelo is the slightly bigger man. GGG is typically only a few lbs from the contracted weight in his 30 day weigh ins and because he is a active champion he stays in fight shape; he has his routine down. I think Canelo's youth is allowing him to suck down but that will stop eventually. I think the weight stipulation is Golden boy avoiding the fight, for now at least. I think Canelo is willing and ready but his team is protecting their only gun. frustrating as a fan but thats the business of boxing

He dumped the WBC belt, I personally don't blame him I don't think Canelo has a chance against GGG, not because Canelo isn't great, its just GGG is special Think Fury vs Wlad goes the same way, if Wlad gets brave he might he stopped

Its hard to say islander, but i don't think canelo has the style to trouble gg as much as u think. If you notice whenever Golovkin fights a shorter fighter who is physically strong(curtis stevens, lemieux) he keeps them off balance with the jab and dosent allow them to get set. If u look at canelo, he's not very good at applying pressure because he is a counter puncher;canelo is at his best when he has an opponent coming after him ala Marquez, where he can let those counter punches go. I just don't see GG going after canelo; i see him controlling distance with the jab like he did lemieux and it will be up to canelo to get past that jab to position himself for an offensive

I hope GGG won't be another Tszu. Whom Oscar Dela Hoya, Shane Mosley, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Gatti skip. What Tszu did to Zab Judah and Chavez Sr. scared everybody and made an excuse his not bankable. Even when he loss by a KO.

Canyellow is ducking GGG because the pummeling he'll take will be bad not only his health, but also his career. The ducker would be hard pressed to beat the best at 154, let alone GGG. He's dynamite against 147'ers with glass chins, though.
