this is my take on it ben gave AJ a specific move to beat francis which was to sell the low jab to the body then after francis was conditioned to that punch he changed it and went right down the pipe FAST now i think because that specific move worked so good against the boxing rookie francis i think aj got a little bit overconfident in his coaching. AJ had obviously been instructed to go for this crazy uppercut because he went for it like 15x in 5rounds and almost everytime he did Dubois smacked him with a right hand idk why AJ didnt just dodge a punch and then throw a combo, every single time he engaged he engaged at the same time as dubois and rolled the dice on the 50/50

The problem with AJ is that his bad footwork means that he doesnt have a defensive jab. He can only jab effectively going forward. You need defensive moves to avoid getting battered. Lennox Lewis and the Klitschkos were great at the defensive jab. It makes your opponent die of frustration and end up getting sloppy from it.

I'm far from an AJ fan but that second fight with Usyk he really gave it all. Trained fantastically, tried everything but just wasn't good enough. I fighter is finished mentally when he knows in his heart that he can't give any more and can't get any better or fitter. This is why after that fight he lost his mind and started ranting. He knew "he could do no more". When this happens to a fighter it must be like staring into the abyss. When you saw AJ and DD face off you could see it in AJs face. When the referee was waving his arms and saying "no knock down" AJ thought he was calling it and just looked passive. To his credit he was still trying to throw up to the finish, but that was sheer muscle memory and there was no belief or spite behind the punch. Any fights he takes after this will be purely for cash now. Go and enjoy your life now AJ time moves on.
