Something I never realized about the movies, is that the vampires are actually moving faster than it looks. Basically in the Twilight universe, vampires are fast like a fast car in a highway (they can run a little over 100 mph) and not just run, they can basically move at that speed, (talk at that speed, sit down or get up at that speed, fight at that speed, move even just 2 meters at that speed). So knowing that, as I read the books, the movies made no sense to me, because they look much slower than that, they definitely do not look like they're moving at 100 mph, (especially the way Rosalie is running in this scene, it looks so slow, it honestly looks like even I could run like that). But I now realize that in the movies they look so slow because it's us, the viewers, who are supposed to use our imagination, and understand that the only reason they don't look that fast, is so we can see what they're doing more clearly, cause otherwise it would look kinda blurry all the time. We can actually see their actual real speed, (not slowed down) in certain scenes of the whole saga. For instance, the first Victoria running scene (New Moon), it was all slowed down so we could all see her better, but right before the actual chase started, we could see her speed when she approached Charlie from behind, and then right after when she went up to the other man behind her who pointed a gun at her... both those time it lookes like she gets to the 2 of them almost instantly, it doesn't even take her a full second, but a few seconds later when the chase started, (although it still looked like she was fast) everything was slowed down for us watchers, so that we could actually enjoy the chase a little more in detail, instead of just watching a barely visible, blurry humanoid figure with red hair flying like wind at 100 mph across the woods flawlessly doging every branch or tree at that speed, if the real speed was shown instead we wouldn't see much of anything. Here in this baseball game, we see pretty well what's going on, how everyone runs, how they hit the ball with the bat... but if we were Bella in this, we wouldn't see all that at all. What Bella is seeing in this scene is a blurry of bodies moving that she can't really focus on, so she kinda just looks around the place confused, (that's why Esme told her something like "call 'em if you see 'em) cause everytime she thinks she sees someone somewhere he/she quickly moves right away somewhere else, basically making for Bella trying to keep her eyes on one vampire like we would be able to keep our eyes on a fly flying here and there in a room.. sometimes we see it , and then we lose it, and then we spot it again, and then we lose it again, and so on and so on For those who think 100 mph ain't that fast (It's easier to follow a car traveling at over 100 mph than a vampire at over 100 mph, because not only a vampire is smaller in size but also because a car at that speed isn't able to swiftly and instantly change direction like a vampire does. And also because a car needs acceleration to reach that point, a vampire can go from standing completely still to that speed in just a few fractions of a second after they start moving)

If ya'll did not know, in the midnight sun, all in Edward's POV, Jasper played a major role in the confrontation here. The intruders did not smell bella right away or notice Japer's bite marks (that makes him very intimidating and dangerous) because of jasper's ability, to influence emotions. He masked Bella, himself and Alice in a cloak of bored-ness. He made the intruders feel uninterested in them. Three of them were intimidated by Emmet's size, Victoria was planning a thousand escape route and she was very agitated, nervous. And Laurent was falling in love with Rosalie.

The part that makes no sense is James's reaction to smelling Bella. He can obviously see he is outnumbered and he'd have to be a dumbass to think the "snack" didn't already have dibs called on it. It made no sense that he even started moving towards Bella as if he thought he stood a chance at getting a piece. He's lucky the Cullens didn't go ahead and wipe his little group out right there. They've already been causing a disturbance in the neighborhood, James giving Edward the stink-eye, and then James wanting to eat the one human the Cullens are obviously friends with. That's 3 strikes.
