The lady on the bike, the man with flowers, and the Volkswagon Beetle with a dented fender were all traveling at different speeds, taking different times to go around the block. He wasn't just reciting the order they were in from the last lap. He tracked how long each takes and figured out what order they'd be in. My theory is that he sat in his car glancing at the rear view mirror, rather than looking behind him, and not reacting in a way that was obvious enough to let the people in the studio know what was going on in his head. So like, they knew he seemed out of sorts because he was just sitting in his car going nowhere, but they didn’t realize he had picked up on the pattern. And maybe the extras didn’t have the same equipment that the main actors had, to save money, so when he starts telling Meryl about it, they aren’t able to instantly communicate with them to tell them to stop.

@@axonis2306it’s not a blunder. Ever had to coordinate an entire town to not only function as a 24/7 movie set (including holidays) but convince the star that it’s all real? Having a few people walk, drive, and bike in loops is a way to give an impression of population density with just a few people on a set. I’m sure this show had a budget just like any other and actors aren’t cheap. Also there aren’t any shows like this one in reality or in universe, so the producers would fall back on techniques they were familiar with without thinking about it and wound up slipping by making the walking route too short and symmetrical.

4:04 You are now leaving Seahaven Island? Are you sure it's a good idea? Reminds me of Spec Ops: The Line.

I know this will sound weird but Truman's "wife" reminds me of my ex fiancee'. My friend had to take me aside and convince me she was faking her love for me the whole time. I resisted at first but he emphatically said "Go think about it for 30 minutes straight!". Lying in bed that night, looking straight up at the ceiling in the total dark I suddenly rose up and yelled "oh my God!". It's so true love is blind..and/or fake.

Still an excellent movie.

You know, they could’ve easily avoided some of this that would cause him to be suspicious if they had just made sure the actors go and do their own thing but have some basic perimeters and parameters on where the out of bounds is at and made sure Truman stays away from if he came too close. Also made it so that if he wanted to travel, all they have to do is just made sure they go on a zigzag on the plane and made it so boring that it kills off a good chunk of his desire to travel. Not to mention they could’ve just done the same thing with the ships and boats in case if he DOES want to conquer his fear of water because he lost his “father”.

I feel like Truman. I can only get out of my town when I don't tell anyone where or when I am going. As soon as I do everyone in my life tells me I can't go and as soon as I tell one person where I am I get barged with calls and pleas to come back. I hate it here so much.
