I have always loved him having a little character and we have to remember back then the attacks against gay were very strong so all his answers were smart and very true. Also has a deep musical knowledge and artists today can definitely learn a thing or two from someone who became a huge star at 20 years old without internet realities filters or huge marketing. That is a star with a brain

George said stuff years ago that stars support now to stay "relevant" and "supportive" of minority groups. He meant every word and to hell with the consequences, he found his platform at used it over and over to change the way society raised the future generations. ♥️George! Probably the most honest pop star, next to John Lydon.

Prince was around before George, yes. But, Prince started exploding as a bigger star around the same time as George, as videos were getting bigger. I do think the acceptance of the extreme George helped America accept Prince more. People who weren't around back then don't always realize how popular George was. With George's extreme popularity in America, George did open the doors for artists who were around, but not as popular yet, & certainly those who came later on. Of course, doors had been opened for George from artists before, for example Little Richard, Sylvester, Phil Oakey of the Human League, Duran Duran, David Bowie, Elton John, KISS, Alice Cooper, etc. But, certainly the explosion of androgyny in the early 80's was spearheaded by George. George didn't start taking drugs until the end of 1984, beginning of 1985.

I'm a huge BG fan, but I have to disagree with him on Madonna. She definitely can SING and DANCE, very talented performer! Music is a matter of personal preferences. I know there are many great singers out there (for example, classic Sinatra, Streisand, or contemporary Beyonce, Swift), but I simply don't listen to them because their music doesn't appeal to me. I grew up up the 80's, and I think Madonna went on to have the biggest career of them all, both commercially and critically. After Culture Club in the 80's, BG struggled with his own solo career including Jesus Loves You while Madonna won a Grammy for her Ray of Light album. Why do you think he went on to become a DJ? In recent years, BG even said he wanted to collaborate with Madonna. Well, either he changed his mind on her, grew up, got off drugs, or all the above. BG is very talented in his own way, of course, including being a DJ and a fashion designer.
