Three times I come into contact with Pete Burns the Legend. I remember once walk in Liverpool town centre I didn't even know who Pete Burns was and as I lifted my head up from the floor to see where I was going there right in front of me was Pete walking a direct line to me only he was about 10 yards from me he startled me and I jumped a side to let him pass I was in shock I was 13 years old. it was 1976 he was walking down Church Street in Liverpool with big chunky biker boots a white sheet wrapped around his waist draped to the floor, topless with a huge Indian head dress and his wild dreadlocks, he was ahead of his time that's for sure. At home I told my aunty what I'd seen and she said "oh you must of see Pete Burns"... Then in 1978 I went to the shop he worked in not knowing he worked there, to buy one of Blondie's early albums, he was the only one in there serving, I picked the album up to buy it and he said "what do you want to buy that shite for, Debbie Harry is crap she's ugly and just stared at me. I put it back sheepishly and quick and walked out scared of the looks he giving me like I was pure dirt. The strange thing is years later he was on TV in a interview declaring his undying love for Debbie Harry and how much of an influence she was on him. I was shocked, looking back it could of been any album or artist I picked up as I heard later he was very insulting to most customers at times in that little Liverpool shop Probe. Then quite a few years later I went to see the movie Gremlins with friends in the cinema in the 80's in Liverpool and who walks in only Pete and his wife and the rest of the band they all sat in the seats right in front of us big permed long hair and fur coats it was at the height of their fame back in the 80's. I tried to listen in on their conversations but couldn't hear nothing. They seemed to like the movie and left quick once it finished. I was like wow that was a weird moment to remember. RIP Pete, in a way I was a part of your amazing life even if it was for a very very short while. Never to be forgotten.

Pete your records will spin forever round! round! I was privileged to see you live in Puerto Rico during the album Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know. My life was also changed ever since I saw Pete on 📺 t.v.for first time.When I saw Peter for first time i say to myself I want to be him but it wasnt me wanting to be Pete as much as his direct message to me telling i can be who i want to be not turn into what others want me to be or follow trends abd blend in. Stick out!. So to be that clear in life and be passionate about it, takes a lot of courage and because of Pete's courage in telling the world this is who I am and I don't care what anyone thinks I found support to develop the courage myself to be myself and never ever belittle my person by explaining myself to nobody. To me PETE= P ASSION E NCOURAGEMENT T IMELESS E ETERNAL Great legacy! Dead or Alive = great 80s memories. RIP😢💋

I can honestly say, that I am so glad to have been born when I was, and to have gotten to experience some of the most MAGICAL artists and music to have ever been made. For me, it was never the Beatles, or the Stones, or Led Zeppelin, or Bruce Springsteen, instead, it was Dead or Alive, and Culture Club, and The Human League, and dance music. There was nothing better than the magic of a great 12" single.

It would be great to think that Pete's album - scheduled release only days after his death - could still happen. I also wish it was possible somehow to reach both Lynne and Michael who must be havinga terrible time with his loss and send a lot of love from a lot of people. Pete Burns music makes me happy, he was a good role model for saying what you thought and standing by it, and he broke boundaries and taboos like no other. I feel sorry for the people writing terrible things about him - surely you have better things to do with your troll-time? R-I-P Pete - I never knew you sadly, but I miss you and think of you, x x x

Nightbird I sure the Nightbird sings a Perfect Tune, with no sour notes or skips the beat. Perfection is a sad lonely place, its just you all alone in your mom's basement, hammering away at that thing in your hand and spewing Judgement Upon All. Sing little Nightbird, Sing Your Perfect Tune.
@Nightbird.8 жыл бұрын
RIXRADvidz Unfortunately..you picked the wrong person to try to make feel bad with your post. As a Doctor in Psychology..it's going to take a few more sentences from a rabid fan making excuses for incredibly bad behavior..and then pretending said bad behavior is on par with "not being perfect"..to make me feel bad for talking about a convicted criminal and his crimes. There is a big difference between "not being perfect" and physically hurting another human. He. Chained. Another. Human. Being. To. His. Bedroom. Wall. And. Then. Beat. Him. Bloody. Think about that. Think about what a crime that is. He could have killed that man. That man is someone's son, brother, friend. How would you feel if someone did that to someone you loved? Would you then be so callous in your comments..and make it sound like doing that crime was on par with simply "not being perfect"? Once you cross that line into holding another human being prisoner and physically harming them..you are no longer just "not being perfect". Not "being perfect" is cheating on your diet. It's taking an extra cookie when you were told to only take one. But it is NOT chaining another human being to your bedroom wall and beating them so badly with a metal chain that the presiding judge in your case stated when he saw the police pictures of the injuries he felt "shocked" and decided immediate imprisonment was necessary..which is exactly what he did to George. If you want to make fun of this type of crime go right ahead. If you think this type of crime is no big deal because it was done by your favorite drag queen singer be my guest. And if you want to try to demean me for speaking up for victims of this type of crime by implying I'm some kid in his parents basement then carry on. But the only thing this does is show what type of human being YOU are. And how you lack basic morals and a sense of decency. Which is exactly what Mr. O'Dowd likes..because people like you tell him it's ok to commit crimes like this..because he sings to your liking..and he looks pretty in makeup. The next time you want to make fun of someone..look in the mirror. Because the real sad and pathetic person here is you.

The original frenemies. They interviewed each other on the radio and there was a part that was so sad to me. Basically the press instigated a feud between them based on lies and things taken out of context and Boy George said something like "what a shame because I could have used a friend and we get on so well" and Pete said "yeah we wasted all that time hating each other just being pawns to sell magazines. I feel stupid getting used like that and I'm sorry to you" It was so sweet and sad. They're like sisters that are a little jealous of each other but love each other. Also Pete tells a great story about Morrisey and living across from Sinead O'Connor. If you can find it, it's worth a listen.
