GoofyTheYung I had a teacher last year that made a huge impact on my life. Like I struggled with a drug problem all throughout high school, and (I’m pretty sure the teacher knew, but nothing was directly said) but this teacher cared so much about me, and she wouldn’t settle for less of me. She wouldn’t settle for less in my other classes as well haha. I was going to drop out, but she wouldn’t let me. She helped me find a college, and she helped me with my ACT and SAT, and so much more. The teachers I got pretty close with all gave me a standing ovation at graduation. They told me that they knew I could graduate. With out those teachers, I wouldn’t be going to college. I wouldn’t have a high school diploma. I would still be going down the wrong track. I wish teachers would get paid more. They do so much more than just reach out of a book. Teachers influence lives.

You know the truth behind this scene? Their tears were in no way part of acting when they did this scene. If I remember correctly they were able to do this scene in just one take filming it, but it was extremely difficult on them to not lose it. Even the others in the cast who were watching it(obviously we can't see them in this) from the side were emotional over it(I've seen where they talked about this scene). Their tears were real this time.

Today was my last day of class on my first year of teaching. I wrote letters to all my 7th graders and gave them to them before the day was over. We cried and they told me they loved me and there was lots of hugging. The bell rang and they went. I found myself closing my classroom door, sitting at the teacher desk at the front of class and crying at the empty desks in front of me. I pictured them laughing in them, asking questions, learning. I thought of this scene and how for as long as I’ve loved this show, I’ve always related to Topanga or Corey most but today, I was Mr. Feeny knowing I taught them what I could and hoping it will be enough for their next step in the world. I will always love this show and how it, like no other, truly showed and valued the importance a single teacher can have on a young life.

The series came full circle in that final scene. Go back and watch the pilot episode and then watch this episode in it's entirety. You will notice a lot of foreshadowing. Think about how Mr. Feeny gave Corey detention in the pilot for listening to the baseball game in class. Think about Corey seeing Mr. Feeny through his kitchen window from his tree house. The look that Corey has on his face when he is up in the tree house and sees Mr. Feeny all alone is the same look he has right before he embraces him.

I was watching this show in order for the first time ever, and I just finished last night. This scene was the best part of the series finale, and my favorite line is from Eric, when he says, "I don't know what's gonna happen to me, but I do know I'm gonna be a good person who cares about people". As we all know, that's how Eric turned out.
@davidhenrylake20476 жыл бұрын
Kobe Busia Eric has progressed the most. He was so selfish toward others, until toward the end. Eric became about helping others. Ending the feud among the friendship circle, taking care of Tommy and giving him a chance for a better life, standing up for his brother during the garage fight, feeling more empathy after Chet died than even Allan. Yeah he's learnt from Feeny emotionally.

It’s funny . I didn’t really have a “favorite character” until I heard Shawn say, “You never gave up on me..not once.” As a kid I didn’t appreciate how well written shawns character was. The problem with GMW is that when people watched it, they were looking for the continuation of BMW and were let down a bit because it was not the same. BMW spoke to our generation. GMW was wonderful for nostalgic purposes but the target audience was really supposed to be a new young audience but us 90s kids watched it trying to relive life with Cory and Topanga and were not trying to see it center around Riley and Maya. This....this right here.....was our childhood. I miss the 90s and early 2000s. Love Mr. Feeny.

I had a Mr. Feeny in the form of a Mrs. Weiner. She was wonderful. One of my coworkers who graduated a different class said that his favorite teacher was Mrs. Weiner she was the type to believe in students and really push their boundaries. I don’t know if teachers care as much as they used to but a good teacher can leave an impression on a child that will last a lifetime.

The one person out of the group if you think about it that went with what they said was Eric. He ends up becoming a Senator and caring about people and still being a good person overall. We knew Topanga was going to be successful but Eric's potential like Feeny said, it came out and he's doing great. Granted, sometimes Eric's being Eric but it means he's human too.

What I love is that (in my opinion anyway) we learn at the end that all along, the show was truly about Mr. Feeny, and his pinnacle years as an educator. Cory, Shawn, and Topanga were the shining moments of his last decade or so of teaching. As an educator myself, I appreciate so much that Mr. Feeny shows us how hard it is for us to say goodbye to our kids, and to then watch them go into the world. What a beautiful chapter of TV history.

This show WAS my teen years. I'm the same age of these actors, and my family watched Boy Meets World together on Friday Nights in the 90's. The Good Old Days. Everyone should have a teacher like Mr. Feeny.

Anyone else watching this in 2020 with tears in their eyes? Growing up around the same time as the actors on this series, I knew it was a TV series. Yet the acting and storylines drew me in so much, I thought these kids were my friends. Even Mr. Feeny felt like he could have been my high school teacher. God, the full version of this episode always gets me. Cory even name drops the series title while giving brotherly advice to his younger sibling! 🇵🇷🇺🇸😪

I found out this show after watching Girl Meets World. I see how much people hate GMW and always say BMW was better. BMW is obviously better, but lets be honest, GMW was really good and had a lot potential, the only issue is that it never had a chance, it was aired on Disney Channel and it only lasted 3 seasons, BMW lasted 7. Sorry if my grammar is bad but English is not my first language :P

Mary Elizabeth I mean it’s not like it didn’t have its moments but if felt like a generic disney show with boy meets world in it. BMW was something different.
@stevenwalker81845 жыл бұрын
Damian Samayoa The thing about Boy Meets World is it didn’t become as heartfelt and memorable until about Season 4. What if Season 4 of Girl Meets World was where it became its best?
@nintendofan60995 жыл бұрын
Steven Walker I wonder if it’s because different writers came in or they just changed the tone?
@sammyshehole5 жыл бұрын
The problem was it aired on Disney Channel. I feel like if they had waited a few years, they could have probably gotten the show onto ABC, where it would’ve had a much better chance at lasting longer and not feel like as much of a kid’s show. And I say ‘waited a few years’ because lately, in the last couple of years, it seems like reboots are becoming more popular, with the apparent success of Fuller House, Roseanne/The Conners and such.

I never watched it regularly. Just occasionally. Thought it was too corny. But did just happen to catch this scene. It stuck out b/c as they were graduating high school I was about to enter it.
