How funny! I was *JUST* telling my husband about the adverts for their wedding and how they did a commercial save the date inviting us viewers. For some reason it always stayed in my memory as a touchstone from childhood. 😹💍👰🏻♀️🤵🏻 It was cute, and For some reason I recall a website ? It was soo much fun !
@vkmtvstudios2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I briefly showed what I could pull up of the old website from the wayback machine. I tried to go around the old ABC page for the wedding, but most of the links were dead.

Great sleuthing! That’s soo neat. I’m not surprised there’s just fragment traces left sadly. When I was telling the husbeast this past weekend about it I started doubting myself. I vividly recall the wedding invitation they put in the advert 😹 It was an iconic pop culture touchstone for us of a certain age. I do find it funny the things that stick with us in memory though. This was an enjoyable video on the series. Thank you for putting it together for us! 🫶🏻😁

Excellent job!!! One note though. Despite Michael Jacobs' open invitation to all of the original BMW cast to appear on GMW, one particular BMW character was unfortunately not brought back --- that of Maitland Ward's Rachel. I know that she was mentioned in the GMW ep with Eric & Jack but it still sucks that Rachel never made a physical return. This is ironic as Michael made that statement on camera in Austin with Maitland sitting behind him. I hope Rachel's absence on GMW was not due to either Michael or Disney execs being made uncomfortable by Maitland's racy social media channels. Yes, Danielle Fishel was in Maxim. But that photoshoot was was not as provocative as Maitland's current profile on social media, which I could see making some folks at Disney very uncomfortable. On a different note, I think it absolutely sucks that GMW was cancelled. But at least the show was given a proper ending like BMW was --- not an opportunity all shows have. And Shawn Hunter was finally given a happy ending, even though I know that Angela fans were made upset by it not being with her.

Childhood. They don't make shows like boy meets world anymore and when girl meets world came out it pretty much broke. The internet. Growing up in the '90s was something special. You could only talk about it if you were there and even then you look back on it with pride, admiration and you smile. We had the best ever to this day. There is no show in the history of the '90s before or since that taught us how to grow up

This show was never intended to be or possibly be a Wonder Years type show it was originally just about what life is like with a boy living next door to his teacher However as time went on and the series kept coming back year after year it was becoming The Wonders Years reboot no one ever saw coming. After that the show began dealing with a boy named Cory Mathew’s as he journeys from Elementary School to Junior High to High School then too College and then eventually the real world. Along the way his teacher and mentor MR Feeny teaches him lessons not only about school but life as well also the incredible love story between Cory and Topanga the girl next door the girl he thought was weird but sort of always liked her but then eventually got with her and they faced many challenges over the years but in the end they lived happily ever after. Cory’s best friend Shawn Hunter became a ever bigger character than Cory at times because the show focused on his struggles growing up in a trailer park and his mom running out on him and his dad neglecting him he soon goes to live with a teacher named MR Turner who is sort of like his teacher and mentor. Shawn is a ladies and dates lots of girl but eventually settles down but he faces many challenges and obstacles but overcomes anything and everything that is thrown at him and succeeds to everyone’s highest expectations. Eric Mathew’s evolves a lot too and becomes MR Feenys shadow and philosopher of life well so he thinks. The Parents there friends to bullies to every situation and moment this show became something very different and very special Wonder Years of the 90s

The thing that really is touching is Eric and Cory in the pilot he was shocked that Eric chose a girl over him being the beginning of him puttin girls before him and them not being that close anymore but still close Cory even mentions this to Shawn in season 3 Eric hasn't said much to me since 5th grade a year before the pilot and the season 3 finale Cory is sad that they weren't as close as they once were but the road trip brought them really close again till Around season 7 then they went back to the relationship they had in the first three seasons being close but not as close till brothley shove when Eric is hurt Cory didn't ask him to help go through their things and Cory says where does it say u have to hang out with your brother and Topanga goes back to the way it was in the beginning of the series saying I remember when wanting to hang out with Eric was all I wanted to do then they go back to how seasons 4 through 6 and before the show started being really close again And for the age gap my version to make sense to me is Cory season 1 6th grade Eric 9th season 2 Cory 7th through 9th and Eric sophomore to senior cause Cory runs for 8th grade president and on the Air they talk bout a 9th grade dance and u can tell they aged a lot that season and season three Cory 10th grade their 15 in the start of that season Eric a senior again it's believable he could have had to repeat being a slacker season 4 Cory 11th season 5 Cory 12th Eric freshman in college season 6 Cory freshman in college season 7 Cory sophomore in college Eric a junior in college that's to make sense to me and sense Cory and Shawn didn't like to Topanga in season 1 and didn't know much about her I say in season 4 long walk to Pittsburg I take out the line of knowing each other as babies and only play when he says I threw dirt at her I call that the lost year I take out all the dialogue that doesn't make sense so my version makes sense good review I love this show and yours is the best in depth review ever

@sarahsepanski19867 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Rider said that Ben kinda grew on him. It's also said by other sources that Rider was a very mature kid so I think that's where he and Ben clashed. He may have gotten annoying to Rider in a "annoying little kid" sorta way. I think that's why Will and Rider were great friends too! Rider was able to connect with an older person. I'm glad Ben and Rider got to be good friends too. I think they warmed up to eachother after Cory got a little more mature. And no hate to Ben at all. He was a kid. It's natural. He was adorable.

That is fucking dumb and Topanga wasn't even there at the start of the show and when she was in the first season she had a very limited role.

Girl meets world was horrible. There wasnt any magic to it whatsoever. It felt bland and totally fake. I felt like it didn’t like it could handle actual topics people had in their life.

From my research, it had to do a lot with being Disney Channel, but man i wish they did more with the originals.

I didn't get to watch girl meets World until I was like in my late 30s but I liked it. I think it had a bit of a different take but also it's kind of similar which I liked so it didn't piss off the old fans but it made it interesting for the new fans

I know I’ll prob get some hate from this but of course I love Corey and Topqnga but still Lauren from the ski episode was too adorable and had a crush on her but my first real crush for sure was Topanga. Seriously my fave show other than full house from tgif.

IMO Girl meets world fails because the writing wasn't as strong. They weren't allowed to be serious as BMW. Everything was too light hearted. Even the bully episode was too light hearted. They could have talked about how series cyber bulling can be. And they didn't.
@vkmtvstudios2 жыл бұрын
So I have a massive girl meets world retrospective that I’m working on right now that could be ready in a week or two. And I address all of this criticism

@@vkmtvstudios I look forward to seeing it! You did a great job with this one!
@MrParkerman6 Жыл бұрын
@originalkingdomhearts Did you even watch the same show?? It is the complete opposite, dumbass. Girl Meets World was much too dark and serious. ...but neither reasons are the reason it failed, it failed 'cuz Like Filler House the casting directors sucked at finding new people for the show and the writing sucked.
