dad was a scout in the 30's' i was in the 50's.the same thing with APO frat that i was in back in the 60's. it's all over.....

Time to drop my affiliation. 73yr old. Cub Scout(AOL), Eagle (OAV), Air Scout (USAF-30yrs), Pack Leader, Weblows Leader, Scout Master, Council Member, and this is the last straw. My daughters went the full boat in Girl Scouts. I just about left when they lowered the Scout Master standards. And I'll say again, "Scouting America needs to actively support the Girl Scouts and counter the current trends. I think they need to get back to their roots.

I’m a male teacher and I was always sad when my mom wouldn’t let me join. I felt left out. Now when I see the scout leaders come talk to the kids… I understand why. They are so creepy and unsettling. I feel uncomfortable being in a room with them… I can’t imagine going on a trip or being left alone in a room with them 🫣 I’m sure they are not all bad people, but it seems like some may not have the best interest at heart.

He persists because he sees the value of the organization! Perhaps if you took a closer look at scouting, you would understand why it doesn't matter if girls are included--it only makes the organization better

Wouldn’t knowing you are a boy or girl, but understanding you don’t need to meet predetermined standards or ideals of how to act, think, and feel, be the ultimate evolution of this? Isn’t saying “I don’t feel like a boy or girl” giving in to the labels and acknowledging that there really are boys and girls? And the real thing that doesn’t exist is the ideal?
