I was in cub scouts and boyscouts for a few years. I would always beg my parents to let me quit because I hated it but looking back, I’m glad I did it. I made a ton of friends and learned a lot of useful skills.

A few years ago scouts invited girls and it’s actually not “military” at all. It’s really chill and you learn HUNDREDS skill and I love it. I’m more than halfway to eagle right now and I’m what they would consider “young”. There was a boy 4 years older than me that has the same rank as me in our troop. So Boy Scouts (BSA) is actually pretty awesome and I recommend you join it. If you get Eagle (the highest rank) it looks amazing on a college and job application.

I did girlscouts. Pretty fun, accept the first year was hell. There were so many young kids, it was hard to pay attention. We were all 1-3rd grade, so you can imagine our meetings. But I was focused, to help the community. So yeah it's been a couple years but yk, you're welcome for all the dog beds, gifts for elderly, and beach clean-ups. 👍

I won my pinewood derby. I put graphite on the wheels and used weighted tape as part of the deco like a two tone silver and blue color and I put more of it up front so they didn't have to add as many washers to the cockpit of mine. It was a no contest I just blew threw everyone to take 1st place

I remember the Cub Scout people would always come into school to try and coax people into joining their ranks with cool magazines that showed all the TUBULAR things you would do. I just wanted to go zip-lining, but NO, my parents wouldn't let me join year after year, because it was too much money or something -0- Hearing about it now though, it just seems like a glorified summer-camp... I was a cub scout in Canada and when I was is cub scouts we had something called pirate camp. For a couple meetings before, we would plan everything (food, supplies, transportation etc.) then we were to build a pirate ship as a group out of 2x4's. We nailed them together (with help of course) and went to the camp. Then we pretty much played pirate (we had plastic swords and everyone had pirate costumes on) for the rest of the day. Fuck that was awesome. Then, since the leaders didn't want to bring the pirate ship back home, they put it on the fire pit and burned it. The fire was literally over 20 feet high and we had to stand 30 feet away without burning ourselves. Then we ate chocolate fondue with fruit. Got dayum I loved cub scouts.

As a former cub and now a Boy Scout, I was the only girl in my troop and the ONLY one in my rank! I was a lone wolf, literally. I didn’t do anything to progress, I did the pinewood derby, and I did a few camp outs but other than that I went all the way to Boy Scouts with no effort. But I mean, it’s cub scouts.

my brother went to boy scouts and sometimes I was dragged along too. and for whatever reason I was like "no don't make me!!!" and then when I get there, I am like "I wanted to do that, they get to do all the fun stuff" but the only ones I remember are boat racing. also by the way, it wasn't like we were in the boats, we just had tiny boats in a hollowed out piece of wood (or something, I don't remember) and soap carving. I don't know if that one it was a young mens cause I don't think I was that old but I do not remember my brother there sooo... also soap carving was just practise for wood carving.
