BOYA BY-MM1+ vs. BY-MM1 Pro! Should you UPGRADE??

In this video I compare the #BOYA BY-MM1+ to the BY-MM1 Pro! Is there any difference between the two microphones and should you ditch the Plus for the Pro?
Since the BY-MM1+ is only about $13 cheaper than the BY-MM1 Pro I thought it would be interesting to see if BY-MM1 Pro is worth the extra money.

I got two BOYA BY-MM1 with an audio splitter cable ( Hosa YMM-261 at Amazon ) that cost under 1 dollar to my SONY a6400 and can't find any reason to by another microphone so now I can work with two channels in postproduction.

The audio is recorded from the mic and not edited. It wouldn’t be an honest review if I used an audio preset.

I seriously doubt, that the "Plus"-version can record in stereo. I read in a Spanish Amazon review that the mic always mixes to mono internally and that the rear diaphragm is amplified less than the front facing. So no stereo!

Hi, I didn't know the BY-BM2021 existed until you mentioned it. The BY-MM1 Pro has more features than the BY-BM2021. Also you said that the BY-BM2021 is too big for you. So, considering all of that I would go for the BY-MM1 Pro.

This would be a killer drinking game, every time you say boya BY-MM1+ or by-mm1 pro. 🤣 Welke stad liep je nu door?? I tried figuring out the accent, and recognised it midway through, confirmed when you started walking. It's some of our vowels that sound just a tad different. 🤭 Especially when words are already Dutch like interview.

Hoi! Ik liep in Arnhem. Bedankt voor het kijken 🤙🏽 Nederlands is niet mijn moedertaal dus ik kan mij niet voorstellen dat ik Engels met een Nederlands accent spreek. In mijn moedertaal wordt er wel bepaalde Nederlandse woorden gebruikt. Misschien omdat het op dezelfde manier wordt uitgesproken heb je de uitspraak van dat woord herkent?

@@IbrahimLucas niet je moedertaal? Grappig, zal dan inderdaad er op lijken. Het is vaak de klinkers die Nederlands doen klinken. Wat is je moedertaal dan, als ik vragen mag? Even ter info, je Engels Klink niet Nederlands ofzo hoor, het zijn af en toe die vowels die net een andere twang krijgen waardoor je hoort dat je niet native Engels bent. Heb hetzelfde probleem, is veel voorkomend probleem bij polyglots. Ik kan geen enkele taal meer zonder accent spreken. 🤣🥲

Hi Alfred, like I mentioned in the video the shock mounts are the same. It depends on the situation, but you could experience the shaky noise with the BY-MM1 Pro also.

Hi Guys, Am looking to record an interview in a coffee shop using either a DSLR or iPhone. Do you think the BOYA BY-MM1+ could handle the task? Sorry if its a silly question, its my first time looking for a mic for interview outdoors :)

Hi Desiree, are you recording in a coffee shop or outside a coffee shop? If you're recording inside then the BY-MM1+ could be a good option. I wouldn't use it outside if there's a lot of wind, the windscreen is not the best. The closer the mic is to the subject the better the audio is. So, I would look if a lavalier mic could be a better choice for the interview. The BOYA BY-M1 if you're on a budget.
