Nice cobbling. A great example of "making it work".

Thanks 👍. I though it would be a bolt in, but made it work when I realized it wasn't. :)

@@JimmyMakingitwork oh for sure! I can’t wait to see the finished product. I’m working on a 94 Mustang GT and I keep saying I don’t want a show car but I keep doing the same thing you’re doing, fixing this and adding that, lol

American made fuel tank held by Chinese fasteners. Matco is made in Taiwan now. Harbor Freights headquarters used to be right down the road from me. Thanks for the video Jimmy, that truck will be rolling before you know it.

The gas tank is sharp looking. It reminds me somewhat of a fuel cell. I install washers the same way you do. Really like that shirt you are wearing. Have a great weekend!

Hey Jimmy! I’m surprised GoPro didn’t offer any support with all the camera probs you were having. I have a GoPro 7 and 8 and thinking about the 10 but after your experience, I look elsewhere. Thanks for sharing your experience

Thank you, I’m getting used to the glitches and adapting. But sure would be nice if it didn’t have those issues.

Thanks for detailed video! Did you run a metal fuel line from the tank to the engine compartment?
@JimmyMakingitwork3 ай бұрын
Yes I did. It should be in a video after the tank install video. There are 98 videos on the truck so far. :)

Thanks for your video! I’m just starting my Boyd tank install on my 63. My tank is also a side mount. I haven’t decided where to install my filler tube ie behind the drivers side rear wheel inner fender or other. Where will you install the filler tube & cap?
@JimmyMakingitwork4 ай бұрын
Mine is a top fill, so I cut the bed boards and sanded a round hole for access. Might add a cover eventually but so far it works well. If I went side fill I’d probably find a donor truck and graft in a fuel door? I thought about it a bit. Glad if I could help.

Sir is your bed still off your pickup? If so could you do me a favor? Could you take some diagonal measurements on the frame because I think my frame is out of square. I’m trying to install a Boyd gas tank on a 63 C-10 short bed Thank you
@JimmyMakingitwork3 ай бұрын
Sorry, I have the bed on the truck and it's on the road now, only needing a Fan upgrade for Summer temps. I do know my frame rails were also slightly out of square, but not enough for concern, within about 1/4". You can use the bed rail mounting holes to measure and get an idea. I think this is why the tank comes needing the mounting holes drilled. Adding blind nuts or rivnuts to the tank mounting flanges will also help with getting it bolted up. I made a more complicated steel strip and used bolts and nuts, more work to remove next time. But I plan to change that if I do ever have to remove it again. Hope this helps.

Jimmy how many hours did it take to install this with all the gas lines etc? Thx
@JimmyMakingitwork Жыл бұрын
I had about 4 hours in it start to finish. Not including removing the bed.
