I seriously need to buy a house near this shop…. Everyday about 8:00 am I’d blaze by this shop with the most pos marketplace vehicle I could find with no exhaust just to see Jimmy freeze up in the video!!! 😂

Rofl, that would work like a charm!

one thing I despise about being a flat rate tech. Take me off good tickets to do oil changes and then get mad at me for not having any cars fixed and further expect me to stay late to play catch up.
@JimmyMakingitworkАй бұрын
Yeah, there is certainly some unrealistic expectations. I’ve told managers that I’d stay late if they stayed with me. Usually takes care of it, but once in a while they’ll call your bluff. Haha

Good morning Jimmy! I got the Dewalt Big Jump Pack about 6 months ago! It will do 4 car or pickup tires no problem! 200 bucks! I usually don’t buy Dewalt but this was great!

Went to Hunter Engineering in St. Louis back in the 90's for alignment theory and repair back when the K119 alignment system was being tested. The shims are a little pain in the ass...have to remove the one that is on the car, bolt it back up then re take your readings. Your Hunter machine will tell you which shim to use and what slots to to remove from the shim so that the hub will be in specs when you assemble the hub. No real thinking just time consuming.
@crasher88Ай бұрын
beat me to it, I could never figure out how to get the shim thing to work with the hunter machines. Guess I just needed some one to walk me though to process
@JimmyMakingitworkАй бұрын
Yeah, they are pretty easy once the angles are understood or if the machines input is followed well. Have done hundreds of them, but not any lately.

it's always an issue with CAN modules. you see some troubles with one module, and you think the module is faulty. however, that can be any module on the CAN bus that just doesn't allow other modules to work. plus it can be simple troubles with powers/grounds and with CAN communication lines too. troubleshooting usually consist of two parts: 1) connecting an oscilloscope to the CAN lines with getting real-time diagrams of communications (you can notice there some faulty communication packets) 2) disconnecting modules from the CAN bus one by one in order to find the source of issue. That's a lot of time and money...

I heard my neighbor start his car last year. Told him, hey, sounds like your battery is weak. Fast forward 1 day, dead battery. I am always giving people bad news

2003 f150 has a coolant not up to temp code would that also cause a misfire?
@JimmyMakingitworkАй бұрын
Probably a stuck open thermostat or an issue with the temp sender.
