I bought a Savage rifle once that left the factory with a Boyd's stock and when I got home with it and was installing the scope I realized there was a run in the finish. I think Boyd's QC needs improvement.

Sometimes it is hard to be so honest however, so many paid advertisers in this industry make it easier.

My experience has been exceptional with Boyd’s. Your’s ma differ. They treat me like family and have excellent products. They have even worked around deployment schedules for us.

@@abitoutside I don’t judge anyone. You’re doing you. I’m simply stating my experience with them. And I’ve never met better people or better service. My “friend” couldn’t figure out how to use a phone because he was deployed most of the last five years and they helped him for two hours order the right stock, and place the order for him because all he could remember was how to call in coordinates I only get one vote. I highly recommend them and products

All I've had were great a little fitting with any custom stock I've bought not just Boyd's but all of them

I haven't had any direct experience with them, but only word from friends and friend of a friend. For a firearm or even airgun 4 separate people all said not worth the money. Great video man

My stock required inletting as well. No big deal I would rather have the custom fit than a sloppy fit. My issue was how sharp the edges were but some finishing it should be fine.

They need better QA. I bought at At-One. It is beautiful but didn’t adjust in the LOP like it is suppose to, I had to email them and work it until it was looser. I was very disappointed.

I had the same issue with an 11/87 stock from them. The butt stock fitted up to the receiver crooked and the forearm wouldn’t fit the tube at all. Was over a 1/4” off in diameter to fit over the tube. Boyd’s customer service did send me another stock that fit better. Only complaints on the second stock that I received was that it seemed the fit on the forearm was a bit bulky.

I had a roulette wheel conversation with an entitled woman there ordering a 1917 model Winchester MFG Enfield stock/ sporterized. It became such a hassle that I bought the stock but let the checkering off just to keep a civil conversation with this gatekeeper-mentality-oriented female! I will find another manufacturer for future needs.

Is the stock actual layered wood or is it just a laminate printed on?

Bought a Boyd’s Prarie Hunter stock with all the bells and whistles.. couldn’t have been happier. Did you take your measurements? I wouldn’t say Boyd’s is junk just because you had one bad experience. Their product is excellent in my book mine fit perfect and it is absolutely beautiful. Something didn’t get relayed to them and point a to point b measurements are written right on the web site for the stock it’s your responsibility to make sure they are the same. Sorry you had a bad experience I just ordered another stock from them because they are really nice stocks.

Unfortunately that was the model they suggested. It was junk, but they replaced it with a good one.
