Nice video brother! Do you'll have a video on how to measure center action screws and barrel dimensions from point A to point B, before ordering a new chassis for beginners thank you beautiful product!

Absolutely thrilled with my At One Thumb Hole. Ordered one for my Ruger 338 win mag after the factory stock splintered after the fourth shot. I could have had Ruger replace it, but would I have trusted it? Probably not. I installed it myself, and after a little sanding to float the barrel (fit a little tight on this monster), it was perfect.

Bought a Stock from these guys. Excellent materials, but the fit to the barrell was awful and i eventually had to bring it to a smith.

Barrel and action is the gun, the wooden part is the stock, after using popsicle stick to fight with bedding compound, press hard on the scope on the “gun” part of the firearm to secure it in the “stock”. Check. Learning more every day. Thanks

Fortunately my Boyds wood gun stocks being CNC machined to the action were so tight the barreled actions had no movement in the stock at all with the take down screws removed. So I did not need to bed the stocks at all. Bedding would not improve the stock or make the action any tighter than it already is. Bedding is used to eliminate movement of the action in the stock and there was no movement. The cut of the fore stocks barrel channel also free floated the barrels just fine so I did not need to remove any fore stock material. The stocks fit just fine from Boyds. Not to say all stocks from the factory would be as good of a fit and should be checked but the ones I got were. If they had not come with such a good fit I would have had to fit the actions to the stocks better. Thanks for sharing.

@@boydsgunstocks Can you use JB Weld to bed a stock?
@boydsgunstocks2 жыл бұрын
@@Gadgetmawombo We offer bedding compound on our Accessories page that comes with a release agent. That way you'll be able to remove the stock in the future if you ever need to. JB Weld would work, but it's permanent.
@pstewart54432 жыл бұрын
You need about five times that amount of bedding compound for a perfect fit. That little amount would be fine if you had an aluminum bedding block. Instead of using the action bolts to lock it down, try rubber tubing, bungee cords, or anything with a highly elastic nature. There should be bedding compound flowing out of the stock on the sides and there should be compound under the chamber to help support the barrel/action meeting point.

I get bedding the vblocks, however what did you cover there behind the trigger? It would be very helpful to show that. Or is this not something you would do for a Ruger American?
@boydsgunstocks3 жыл бұрын
The bedding that was done on the rear is the rear tang, very lightly, on the Remington. On the rear safety of the Ruger American, we recommend avoiding this area all together.

Hello, I am writing from South Tyrol / Europe. Sorry, my english is a google translator english. I just got my first spike camp stock for my Remington 700 ADL! I am very impressed with the look. Unfortunately I can't try it because of the Corona crisis. There were no sleeves with my stock. Are they absolutely necessary? Is bedding in resin absolutely necessary? I am currently in the process of ordering a spike camp again through Brownells.it for my Ruger American Rifle. Are the two support brackets included or do they have to be ordered separately? How do you take care of such a stock? you do a great job Thanks and greetings from the Dolomites
@boydsgunstocks4 жыл бұрын
Hello Walter, Our Remington 700 stocks do not come with sleeves and they are not absolutely necessary for using our stock. Bedding is personal preference on the Remington 700 models. It voids our 90-day warranty, but it does improve accuracy. Bedding is completely up to you. Yes, we supply the front and read lugs for the Ruger American stocks. This model requires glass bedding and we send bedding material in the box with the stock. You will need to bed the front and rear lugs because this model is very hard on our stock without it. Taking care of this stock is very similar. If you're in a damp climate during a hunt or shooting session be sure to wipe down the stock and rifle very well to keep the stock from swelling from the moist. Beautiful country you live in, Walter. Thank you for choosing Boyds! Greetings from South Dakota!
