There are no instruments, just these 5 guys! They did an incredible job on this cover. Thanks Darnell. 🖤🍟

Right, like any other studio recording, there are separate layers recorded to form the complete song. The live performances will sound slightly different than the studio recordings because they don't have those layers, but use a looper occasionally, that they set up before the song.

This was done with the encouragement of original Boyz II Men member Shawn Stockman who had been a judge on the Sing Off which they competed on when it was on NBC. All the guys are extremely talented, Tim Foust the bass, has a 5 octave range and can sing up in the tenor range too. Adam Chance the guy with the beard in the back has an amazing voice and picks up the bass when Tim sings lead and has a beautiful warm lead voice of his own and naturally falls more in the baritone. Take Me Home Country Roads might be a good song to introduce you to all of their voices as a lead.

These guys do an amazing job of this song! They can do any genre including R&B. Rob's voice has so much feeling & soul in it. Austin adding his higher tones, Chance harmonizing in the back, Tim adding some bass & Adam with his fabulous vocal percussion. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there. All their songs are good whether it is serious, heart warming or funny.

I'm not sure if you meant "instrumentals" as actual instruments or their voices. Just wanted to let you know that Home Free never uses instruments or background music tracks. Occasionally they use a looper if they need two things done at once by the beatboxer, etc. Also for claps sometimes as in this song. They often use a piano or guitar in their solo projects and they've used instruments in a few of their collaborations with other artists, but when they do, it's out in the open. 👍😉🎶

When they were on the NBC show the Sing Off (they won in 2013) Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men was a judge and he loved them. I think they wanted to do right by him. It’s such a good rendition. They can really bring it. Blue Ain’t Your Color, Castle on the Hill. Good reaction!😃

I love Boyz II Men and have played End of the Road so many times. I never thought I'd ever like a cover of this song. But Home Free managed to do it, while maintaining the respect for the original. How wonderfully sung by all! But for me it is mainly Rob who nailed it. What a great voice with so much soul in it. He touches me deep inside. Of course it is the combination of the other leads, fantastic harmony, bone-feeling bassline and the inhuman vocal percussion that makes it complete.

TIM FOUST, the bass, has a 5 octave range! He can sing tenor as well as he does bass! He is also a terrific songwriter, and has written several songs that HOMEFREE has recorded! Oh, by the way, they do NOT have a lead singer. Each singer can sing lead on any song that calls for their particular type of voice! I love them all; BUT Tim is my favorite! Thanks for a great reaction!

I enjoyed your reaction. To hear more from the bass, (who can go up to tenor as well),Tim Foust, check out the song they just released on Friday, Whats left of my heart. It is an original written by Tim Foust. He is from Texas, so definitely has that country sound. Austin, the high tenor has a Georgia drawl. Rob, (glasses) tenor is from Mineapolis, no southern drawl. The beatboxer is Adam Rupp, also from Minnesota. And the 5th member, Adam Chance, known as Chance, is from Alabama. He can sing baritone, bass and probably anything else.

I'll explain more than the others... It is all vocal, but it is produced. There are multiple vocal tracks. Usually, their recorded music videos have multi tracks (sometimes doubling a certain part to enhance it, or in this case they did their own "background vocal instrumental track".) They had multitracks in "Man of Constant Sorrow" as well. During live performances, they (run by Adam Rupp, the beat boxer on stage) use a looper. There are several online vids of them singing "Man of Constant Sorrow." Don't let any Home Fries get you down. Great reaction! Thanks for taking my recommendation!

I don't know if I already told you but you need to check out Adam rupp drum solo and that will show you they do not use any instruments at all every single sound comes from Adam or one of the other guys.its totally Awesome. Now that said I do know that they use a looping machine where they make certain sounds for a song and play that while they sing the song but totally no instruments. But each one of them have their own you tube channel and in those they do use instruments. They just have a lot great stuff out there in my book they are better than penitonix but that's my opinion. God bless

That man who you swear you can hear the "country" is a city boy from Minneapolis Minnesota. The reason I'm pointing this out is because you laughed when you talked about him sounding country. There's nothing wrong with being from the country and there's a ton of GREAT singers who are from the country but don't necessarily sing or "sound" country. Try listening to Jim Nabors (Gomer Pyle) sing The Impossible Dream. And their singing roots isn't country. Other than a couple of songs they didn't actually start singing country until the Sing Off when the producers pushed them to audition as THE country group

No instruments.. At all.. Period. Check out Adam Rupp Drum solo and you will understand where some of that sound comes from. As for the bass, Tim.. I had to chuckle when you said "he can still bring it up to harmonize" wait until you dig further into these guys... The are all phenomenally talented and have overlapping skill sets and vocal ranges, so they can do all kinds of crazy things.. Home Free is the only 5 man acapella band with 2 bass singers, 3 baritones, 5 tenors, and 5 beat boxers..

Never any instruments, even in studio versions. Maybe more voices in layers, but no instruments. Austin..red head tenor, is from Georgia. You hear him speak, and you know he's from the south. So, you will hear it in his singing. Tim is from Texas, and Chance, who is singing bass here, is from Alabama. Rob and Adam Rupp are from Minnesota. So northerners....
