In terms of musicality Jodeci would win hands down. They wrote sung produced and arranged all their material. B2M used big producers like Babyface and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis to pen and produce all their hits. Jodeci transcended boundaries with their appeal, swag, musical abilities, arrangements and harmony. Their influence can still be heard today in both Rnb and hiphop. They were out the box thinkers and made and created a lane for themselves. B2M followed the traditional sense and appeal All4One and many other groups followed that lane and Jodeci kept it real, street, grimey and freaky lol #legends

The world is big enough for two excellent black groups. I love Jodeci and Boyz II Men. I'm grateful to have both groups play the background music to my childhood and late night phone conversations with my girlfriends. Lol! Both groups were outstanding, both left lasting impressions and great legacies. With that being said.....Jodeci is my favorite group of all times!

I gotta go with the better preference of Jodeci even tho I am a huge fan of both. Jodeci stepped outside the box and went outside the grain. They weren't afraid to push away from the flow of what rnb was back in the day. I like groups like that. And some people say b2m is better perceived by white audience because they stayed clean and soft, but look at TLC they were the most different than everybody and ended up being the number 1 girl group

DAMN! It was literally night and day with them. I hate putting one group against the other, but I always preferred Jodeci, easily. Jodeci's look was edgier and more interesting. But what really matters, vocally, I'll take K-Ci over Wanya any day. Now, both of them can bend twist and flip a note inside and out, but K-Ci's whole voice just caught my ear. Jodeci's songs touched me a little deeper. Po' Boyz II Men, they were just hoppin' and dancin' around.

Jodeci over B2M all day everyday. K-Ci can out soul anyone on a microphone, and Jo-Jo's vocals were always smooth. Devante and Dalvin added the lower notes in their ridiculous harmonies,, Dalvin added the raps, Devante was/is the dopest producer, and he and Dalvin could actually play instruments. To the poster above that kept arguing that they were truly a duo and not a quartet, they were neither. They were a band/group. and all 4 played a part in their success.

In the singing department it was definitely Jodeci I mean Wanya is good but compared to ki Ci & jo jo Wanya could not bang like those two. Boys 2 men had a slight edge over Jodeci & most groups with their bass singer Michael give them that signature sound as far as harmony goes. For those comparing these two groups, y’all should be ashamed of yourselves!!!! YOU CANNOT COMPARE THESE TWO GROUPS!!! It’s like comparing MJ to Prince, BIG NO NO. Both groups were extremely talented and had different styles and vocal abilities which makes them the best groups of the 90’s, BOTH have the number 1 spot to me. If you guys want to get technical with it, Boyz 2 Men had the better vocals collectively as a GROUP!!! All 4 members sang perfectly together and Mikes bass can’t be touched, even till today. Look up Boyz 2 Men sing uhh ahh/ please don’t go on the Arsenio Hall show and you will agree they had the better vocals and to this day, all three members still sound great, Facts!!! Not taking anything away from Jodeci, but when they sang/sing live, you can mostly hear K-Ci and JoJo. Now, Jodeci had more soul, style, and the better performance! Ok this is the Tale of The Tape like in boxing Boyz II Men as a whole are better singers then Jodecis individual singers Boyz II Men all them can and do sing lead on songs. But Jodeci, Kci and Jojo especially at this time were so great of singers it really didn't show as a weakness on their part as a group. And nobody in B2M can match the song writing and production of Devante and Dalvin arrangement of the vocals nobody in B2M can match just Devante by himself. And as regards performing. I'm just glad I was around when both of these groups came out. We loved both of their music. Boyz II Men appealed to a much wider audience due to having cleaner songs and image aka White Folks liked them...Jodeci on the other hand flat out kept it real...A little too real as we later found out. Their songs were too edgy and soulful for the mainstream. Both influenced 112 and Jagged Edge respectively (similar differences)...Dru Hill is a little of both. At any rate and by admission they're all are a branch off of New Edition's tree as with New Kids on the Block, Nsync, 98°, Backstreet Boys etc...
