Bozeman House: The Dream - Episode 1

After the pandemic and closing my retreat center in the South of France in 2021, in March 2022, I found a small ranch outside Bozeman, Montana that I hoped would become my permanent home, and the new home for the immersive experiences that are my life’s work.
The dream is a quiet place where visitors and locals alike gather in small groups to reflect, connect, and be inspired by nature, practice, and shared meals.
In April 2022, I met with County Planning to determine if the dream could become real, and they laid out a path to a Conditional Use Permit. No new building would be necessary.
In August 2022, after selling most of my investments, I bought the ranch.
In October 2023, my first application was denied.
I love my home, and I hope to share it peacefully with others through my work.

There is a lot to love about this. In summary, be it a handstand or a less wobbly Warrior One pose, the intention and effort are equally inspiring, as is the grace. I often wish I could share my ultra modest yoga practice with others whose lives entail stark challenges many would consider mundane. I'd want them to experience how the heart is light when the grace unfolds. Thanks for sharing.

Nice work. I found a loophole in Greenwich Ct where the building dept has no jurisdiction and maybe same there…. Tree house !!! I built a 400 SF tree house without permits…. It’s was very cool. I took my time… NY time. So yes. I rushed it. :)

Now we’re talking about the important stuff. My favorite way to cook rack of lamb is to brown both sides in a cast iron pan in high heat in some ghee or tallow, then turn the heat down to medium and place the whole rack directly on the grill for 15-20 minutes. I try to leave the rack open in the fridge for a day or so in advance, salted, and with rosemary if I have time. Also: take it out of the fridge and hour before cooking and let it rest after cooking for about 10 mins.
