Your a very good teacher because you carry us through each logical step, seemingly without making too many assumptions about your audience.

How does a growth rate of 1 make 4 rabbits become 8? 1:25 I'm thinking 1x4=4, or is it more growth rate duplicates the existing set/population? So if a growth rate was 2 it would be 12 rabbits? Brain fried but enjoying learning more from YT than my university lecturer!
@messyhairlife3319

a growth rate of 1 means 100%. So basically it would be 4 +4=8

I am in class 12 CBSE India, all the equations in our bio book are same except the value of r! its given that r=(b-d) where b is the no. of births and d is the no. of deaths. Also if if we put the value of r as said by u sir (b-d)/N in the exponential equation wouldn't the N cancel out?
@rowanbelt3612
@rowanbelt3612 7 жыл бұрын
r=(b-d) gives the increase in population in number of individuals, whereas r=(b-d)/N gives a proportional change (if you multiply that value by 100, you have a percentage). I hope maybe this alleviates some of your confusion :)

I don't get why you say the R selected species your example frogs are going to over populated and die from using up all resources. Isn't it the R species have little parent supervision there for the offspring have to raise themselves and they will die from predators while the k species are protected and taught survival skills. Also what about all the other factors that would limit growth like genetic and parasitic diseases and even change in diet is that taken into account for logistic growth?
