Morrell is a pressure fighter, in all his fights except two he applied pressure. He can box off the back foot but he has is more comfortable on the front. He himself said before the fight, him and DB both like to apply pressure and that they will meet head on. I said before the fight if Morrell uses the high guard and is static DB would just tee off on him. Morrell needed to utilize his reach and do what Caleb did with his lead hand. Keep it out there to gauge distance and keep DB at bay. I hope he learns from his technical flaws and makes the right changes to his style. He proved he is tough and has heart.

Some of y'all just don't wanna give Benavidez his props. He listens to his corner, be creative in the ring, attacks the body well and the pressure isn't normal for most boxers. He is Different. nobody fucking with him. bivol sparred him already and admitted he is really good and beterbeiv hasn't. Benavidez is too much for anyone at the moment and he always go to other legends and get tips and advice. He is a student to the game while on top. NO one does that. Benavidez fought as well as he possibly could, while Morrell had another poor performance. What made it poor was that he didn’t use his tool box at all and I saw plenty opportunity for him to use it. Because he didn’t attempt to turn Benavidez and go to his body in the first half of the fight, Benavidez was able to invest to the body and slow him down after 5 rounds. Morrell got gassed because of that, and he did strength training as well. Benavidez has a good boxing IQ and experience, but if Morrell used his footwork, it would be very difficult for Benavidez. Morrell made it very hard on himself. All he had to do was step back and use angles while constantly turn him and fight and stand his ground occasionally. But that’s where experience comes in too.

Morell tried to box but got slowed down with body shots and movement, idk if you know this but head/waist movement tires you down so does throwing punches, so does using lateral movement, go jog outside and see if you don’t slow down after a few min non stop, Benavidez style makes you exert a lot of stamina to stay out of trouble you can run or fight back, he tried both and lost both times, Benavidez was the better fighter, only luck Morell has is to get better conditioning thats the only way he stands a chance of beating Benavidez. But David drowns all his opponents, easier to say he should have did this and that, him doing what he did is what made him a great fighter one of the greatest Cuban amateurs of all time, dudes who never fought swear like they know what they talking about.
