BP Renegades Win Panorama 2024 in a Tie With Trinidad All Stars

BP Renegades earned its 13th Panorama Championship title by winning the 2024 Panorama Finals competition. The band tied for first place with Massy Trinidad All Stars at this year's competition. Playing the song DNA by Mical Teja, Renegades Steel Orchestra now has the most Panorama championship titles out of all the other bands.

I ❤❤❤ steelpan.....it's such a beautiful instrument and these pianists are magicians of the steeldrums......can't wait for T&T to open a Professional Steelpan Academy......what are we waiting for someone else to come and do it for us then call it there own, this should have already been established....anyways better late than never.....we must push the Gov't to support this Culture many lives have been Sacrificed for this to be treat like second class citizen.....You guys are AWESOME...such Spirit ,Passion and Vibrancy❤❤❤T&T forever🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹!!!

@@colmaz1 yes Î am aware of panyards....this is not to knock panyards in any way....I believe that it is time to upgrade even if to start with we change the name to the Academy of Steelpan...that can imply alot of things leaving room for all kinds of growth for the future generations....we already doing it to some extent....but we can get much more professional with it....I meant an Academic setting with graduetes and everything.....that specifically train the differen levels to aspiring studients....We have something very Beautiful and Unique....that should be preserved and protected.....also upgraded at the same time....this is my opinion.... I am Trini living abroad....and have a different perspective of how things could be approche....😊!

It's interesting that you would say that, cause now I feel I have to wonder what's wrong with me. I'm a music person, and I love listening to all music I find good. Doesn't matter the language or culture, if I think it sounds nice, I'll listen to it. That being said, I don't enjoy listening to pan like I used to. If I'm gonna be completely honest, most arrangements are boring, they lack originality, and can't keep my attention long enough to listen to a full song. Duvone arrangements on the other hand, are usually pretty good. He's honestly one of the only arrangers that can keep my attention with his music consistently

Exactly my point. Devon seems to understand just where in a tune to put the right parts. The anticipation of what next , and he never disappoints. The older arrangers are truly legendary but Duvone is the future .

What's the name of the tune that they played? They sound real good but the original tune was lost in transaction. Rifs and skits that they played over and over . Like i said , they were the usual all stars nothing new. Congrats

That’s your opinion. Some will agree with you. Some won’t. I am a phase two fan but I truly enjoyed this by renegades. I never cared for All stars. Except for their 2006 soca warriors. The only time I thought they had the win.

Once again to those who disagree with judges...We the people through Pan Trinbago, we ask 5 qualified musicians to use specific criteria to award pts to all the bands on final night, strike off highest and lowest to help eliminate bias , then aggregate and arrive at a winner..All of us will like one band or another and we entitled to say who sounded best in our ears. But you eh no judge, you eh no qualified musician. You could interpret the criteria for awarding points? What? So is every yr dat ur ban eh win u go grouse? Like u now start to go Rama or wat? U hav any intention to apply to Pan Trinbago to be a judge nex yr.? Me eh hav enuff brain space fuh dat again nah. Ah go com an look fuh allyuh in St Anns, cos dat is where allyuh go en up if allyuh keep up wit dis , ah nearly say SH.T but is yur opinion. ENT.😮😂

Precisely, only non-musicians would deny the greatness of this arrangement. Although many people believe Trinidad Panorama is more of a performance and entertainment base competition than a musical one, the FACT is it is a musical competition.. and the judges will judge music firstly. All Stars was spectacular with their typical arrangement from yesteryear but definitely not outright winners.

Renegades won outright , allstars was energetic but confusing at times with a few of their old arrangements from over the years. BP depicted every part of that song perfectly( even though I hated the abrupt stops) they clarely had new skits, drops and phrases than Allstars. But, i can surely lives with the judges decision. Congrats🎉

Next year to achieve four in a row, bp Renegades should dumb down their arrangement to basic chord progression with running scales over melody. The music not appreciated and is way too advanced for the target audience.
