The start of Clair Ridge | bp

In November 2018 the first oil was pumped from the new Clair Ridge platform. 6,000 people were involved in the platform hook-up and commissioning of the new platform before production could be started. The larger Clair field was discovered in 1977 and had an estimated seven billion barrels of hydrocarbons. It is located approximately 75 kilometres west of Shetland in the United Kingdom.
