Really enjoyed this one the filming was clear and informative. Am I guessing right that you've been using a block not wood as a desk tripod?? That's what it looked like from that last scene 😅 very effective if so.

Haha yes you are correct 😄 I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Awesome video! I just had 2 stihl br 600s given to me said they didn’t run and I got one of them running but the flywheel acted weird so I shut off the blower because the recoil made a noise like it was gonna explode come to find out the flywheel had almost came loose so I tightened it and it ran good for a few minutes then I hit the throttle and heard it again and the flywheel had backed off and sheered the key any ideas on why that happened
@chainsawmatt48492 жыл бұрын
The carburetor could be leaking fuel which could cause the key to shear when there is too much fuel in the cylinder the piston can’t compress it so when you pull the rope it shears the key or it could have just sheared it with no real reason the flywheel itself is a little expensive since it’s made into it thanks for watching!

@@chainsawmatt4849 I believe that may have been what happened the blower has been sitting a few days and it’s been leaking fuel around the carb and I noticed when I took the flywheel off it smelled like gas but I didn’t know the woodruff key was built into the flywheel that’s a bummer but I can take the flywheel off the other blower I have but what can I do so this won’t happen again
@chainsawmatt48492 жыл бұрын
@@alexharper9786 I would check to see if your carb is leaking first the 600s don't usually have issues with the carbs but it happens that's usually what causes the flywheel key to shear there's not much else that can cause it thanks!

@@chainsawmatt4849 Thanks Matt I really appreciate the response! I’ll get back to working on it soon and let you know what happens keep up the good videos I’m a big fan of your Channel . Have a Merry Christmas as well .

By chance is there anyway I can take the flywheel off without any special tools because I have one that’s a good one it’s just on the other blower that I’m using for parts

You sure do work on a lot of br600. Are they good, reliable units?
@chainsawmatt48493 жыл бұрын
Yeah for the most part they are i see a lot of the bad one's because we are just outside of Charlotte NC lot's of hours on these machines. As long as you run high quality 2 cycle oil and non ethanol gas you should have very little issues most of my customers go with the cheapest they can find though lol
@chainsawmatt48493 жыл бұрын
These machines very rarely see any maintenance at all either!! Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you 👍

I don't have a flywheel spacer, can I use my best judgement to install the coil?
@chainsawmatt48493 жыл бұрын
It’s really hard to get it just right with no spacer I would recommend using a business card as a spacer

I just bought a new short block for my 600 and put it all together but it doesn’t want to start. Do you know what could be wrong?
@snoopfurlow12752 жыл бұрын
Adjust the values properly,ave the cam lined up
@corbinrobbins87632 жыл бұрын
Good information, but I think you could buy a new blower for what this will cost.
@chainsawmatt48492 жыл бұрын
This is true in most cases unless you have someone doing it their self trying to save a buck or just needing to know how the thing goes together thanks for watching!
@snoopfurlow12752 жыл бұрын
