HAINBACH yes this bothered me a lot. glad you are still here. If electric triggers your muscles & clamped your hand on that, all done. The Lovely Wife would find you later. Please take more precautions and be more careful for yourself and family working with unshielded 220v electricity & old equipment. Again, glad you are still here. Just recently found your channel. This was a much more serious incident and close call than I think most people realize.

Touched a 120v wire once because I shut off the wrong Breaker once, even wearing insulated safety boots it still gave me a jolt and a scare. Always double check your cables and have a circuit tester ready to go in before your hand does. Ironically I was installing A GFCI outlet in a bathroom to prevent getting shocked XD

That looks WW2 era, immaculate! Reminds me of my ‘command set’ radio receiver. Among your many Lab experiments, THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA, and a wise purchase! Although there are so so many VST plugins and software layers, you can’t truly emulate that presence. I’m really hopeful that you can continue with this direction, and keep up with the storage demands. Someone had better do it, before we all forget this stuff. Important but grim observation about our World: nobody’s going to pay you to do the jobs that really, truly need to be done! THANKS AGAIN for sharing!

This was a fabulous video Hainbach, thank you for sharing it with us! That clip of your face at 04:42 was utterly priceless after the events and sounds that lead up to that part, had me laughing HARD. Also the music was spot on during the earlier sections. Not too loud, not inaudible. Bonus squeals at 02:29 (very pleased you weren't hurt long term) I've had shocks from various equipment here it's 240vac main but I've "experienced" other voltage shocks too. Hurts like a bugger doesn't it!! Overall, sublime as always. Keep up the good work.

It's a good idea to power up old gear like this on a lamp limiter at least. These are cheap, easy to make and will give some protection if there is a fault inside and save things like transformers from getting permanently destroyed. A variac is a good idea too, bring the voltage up slowly, this gives capacitors that have not been powered for years a chance to reform. Very nice preamp, love the mic.

Some old tube equipment has hundreds of volts DC hanging out in there 😭 That scared the piss out of me and I'm watching it thousands of miles away and months in the future knowing damn well you're fine! Eek! And that‘s why I only tinker with low voltage stuff (anything below 18V for me). I‘m excessively prone to accident, so I‘d probably off myself accidentally with mains power! I have a broken soldering iron where only the control circuit is broken. For some reason they put the mains power on the same board as all the low powered stuff like display etc, so I‘m not fixing that! Be more careful too, please, even if the resulting piano track is just hauntingly beautiful!
