That looks WW2 era, immaculate! Reminds me of my ‘command set’ radio receiver. Among your many Lab experiments, THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA, and a wise purchase! Although there are so so many VST plugins and software layers, you can’t truly emulate that presence. I’m really hopeful that you can continue with this direction, and keep up with the storage demands. Someone had better do it, before we all forget this stuff. Important but grim observation about our World: nobody’s going to pay you to do the jobs that really, truly need to be done! THANKS AGAIN for sharing!

It's a good idea to power up old gear like this on a lamp limiter at least. These are cheap, easy to make and will give some protection if there is a fault inside and save things like transformers from getting permanently destroyed. A variac is a good idea too, bring the voltage up slowly, this gives capacitors that have not been powered for years a chance to reform. Very nice preamp, love the mic.

Eek! And that‘s why I only tinker with low voltage stuff (anything below 18V for me). I‘m excessively prone to accident, so I‘d probably off myself accidentally with mains power! I have a broken soldering iron where only the control circuit is broken. For some reason they put the mains power on the same board as all the low powered stuff like display etc, so I‘m not fixing that! Be more careful too, please, even if the resulting piano track is just hauntingly beautiful!
