Fantastic piece of history and nostalgia there. I filmed myself on a number of visits back in 1990 and it was busy even then, but not as much as you had in 88. Thanks for sharing, Colin.

Oh brilliant, just brilliant!! Sadly, I remember vividly seeing those locos in green livery hauling crimson rolling stock. To add to the nostalgia, there were still locos from the back end of B.R Steam thrown in to the mix. An excellent video showing scenes never to return. So very well done and thank you👍

What a great trip down memory lane. Never realised the Peaks were still around so late in the 80's, and enjoyed watching them going on to Etches Park. Thanks for posting.

May have been a little tough on the loco, but I have seen 12 on a 31 and some quite heavy ballasts, although on the GWR we did double head the Newbury and Oxford services from Paddington....many thanks and sincere regards....Mark

My favourite loco is the Deltic but I think second has to be the Class 20. Had many great thrashes with them to Skegness.

Nice Memories of Derby Midland when I was attending an Ultrasonic Testing Course at the Railway Technical Centre before the Railways were destroyed under Privatisation. Grand to see Engines and Units in proper Livery, and no damn Graffiti.

Couldn’t miss your take on derby. Coal hoppers, and Burkhardt wanted to double and triple freight. Ha ha. Bit late in the day for peaks, but doesn’t 45140 look good.

I can personally vouch that pairs of 20s were still hauling passenger services as late as 1993.... Must notably perhaps on the 'Jolly Fisherman' summer services to Skegvegas
