Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Preston Station on 25/04/1992. A day of Pathfinder Tours and The Lancastrian Mini Excursions making for some very interesting haulage, featuring class 20s, 26s, 31s, 37s, and more....for more detailed info please visit The Six Bells Rail tour Website. Now filmed with clear PCM stereo and with a full chip camera. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Interesting to see how they dealt with the capacity of the Sprinter units by splitting the Class 150/2 units up and inserting one of the coaches in-between the Class 150/1 units.

⁠@@spompeywe took 706 out of Preston and eventually returned later that day on 47597 / 86260 - then 37891 / 37298 out to Poulton I think - before scrambling for a Glasgow train and home - @yesterdaystracks videos of the day reflect things perfectly

Some iconic liveries great clarity and variety, but the rail enthusiasts were definitely not fashion icons! Loved the class 60’s as close ups not that common. Top vid!

As I already mentioned April 92 was a cracking month for train pix, though I just missed the last 47 hauled London Oxford trains.

Was that the last of the Oxford/Padd 47s ? that long ago....Many thanks Duncan....Mark

@@spompey Yes and the 47 4s associated with the turns were re pooled to mail trains or left on the scrapheap for years afterwards. They were still at Old Oak in 1995.
