come here after watching 77th Concours de Genève - Flute section, he is so brilliant in this competition too. I love Yubeen Kim's flute sound too, but still curious why Mario can't get 1st Prize. Such a mystery for me right now. His performance has more jumping out of comfort zone courage, doesn't he?

I don't know how he plays like that with his fingers flying so far off the keys. Looks like terrible technique, but evidently it works for him.

It seems to be how most people play these days. In the more exposed legato sections, you can hear keys slamming down, and keys popping up. Very common, I find.
