BR Standard 9F 92214
We see BR 9F 92214 at the Great Central Railway, Llangollen Railway, East Lancashire Railway and West Somerset Railway. The locomotive during preservation has carried BR black, BR lined black and BR lined 'brunswick' green as carried by Evening Star. It has carried a number of names in preservation including Cock o' the North, Central Star and Leicester City.
We also feature 92214 appearing at the Great Central Railway as 92220 Evening Star.

Evening Star is currently on static display at the National Railway Museum and three of them are currently operational as of 2024 and the remaining five are awaiting restoration in varying degrees of intactness. Three 9Fs are awaiting restoration in varying degrees of intactness: 92207, 92219 and 92245. 92207 is still going under restoration and its tender is being built by a BR Class 40, 92219 is awaiting restoration and the tender is being built for the engine and 92245 is moved to Peak Rail for future restoration and the engine parts will be delivered to 92245 to restore the engine to working order.

Hi my name is Phil I did 50yrs on the footplate I started at edgeley shed on the 4th of April 1961 in 1962 I was made a fireman at Trafford Park shed in 1964 I moved back to edgeley I fired a number of these locomotive as others i finished my time out at longsight as a driver but on the 19th of February 1973 I fired the flying Scotsmen from Manchester to derby and on the 25th of August 1973 i fired lender from derby to Manchester I finished in 2011 Regards Phil.
