To keep wind in the main you need to steer a heading which seldom is direct towards the wave. If you were sailing in heavy weather with large seas, if you took a direct path towards the waves, you would de-power the boat and stall it. Stick to what you know which is watching others doing - on KZbin.

It looks like the skipper of the first boat timed his run completely incorrectly. Notice after the big wave hits the boat that there is a period of relative calm? This is the period to, wait for, aim for and try to power out on. The first wave after the calm will also be a little smaller than the waves after that.. so there is a better chance of punching through if you don't make it all the way out on the relative calm patch.

haha Those sail boats can tough waves like that days on end. Its extremely uncomfortable to do so and the inside will be a total wreck by the time you're done but they are tough. Much more difficult to sink than a lot of these motor boats you see of a similar size. Its shocking to see but there are MANY stories of sailors abandoning their sailboats in the middle of large storms to get in a life raft and the sailboat being found just floating around days or weeks later still seaworthy.

Les vagues ne sont pas tres grosses, mais les rouleaux c'est une merde a traverser . Le petit bleu on dirait un surprise, lui il s'est fait secouer 😂 Les images sont magnifiques, surtout les retour au surf ❤. Le plus important pour passer les vagues qui deferlent c'est d'avoir un bon moteur et de faire extrêmement attention aux écoutes. J'ai chaviré au ballears a cause de lecoute de genois qui s'est décrochée sous les chocs et est venue s'emmêler dans l'hélice pour faire caller le moteur 😮 . Des creux de 8 a 10m quand tu finis en travers c'est game over ...
