Chris Scruggs is a musical encyclopedia both in his versatile playing and his knowledge of country music history!

I must admit i just recently realized how classy scugs was ! I saw criss spent some time along with kenny vaughn at meral haggard place just before hag passed , hag was an old school prison cat he would only let a few cats hang out with him in his house from what i read in his life story , so criss had to be a cool cat !
@rockinredneck577 ай бұрын
He's practically country music royalty. Chris is the grandson of Earl Scruggs. He was raised by his mom, Gail Davies. He got his musical genes from both sides of his family. @jongalleog3486

16 tons was always the song the radio played in the 80s and 90s before country radio died ...this song shoulda been played too. These guys are curating a lost art. I hope this kind of authentic music never dies.

I have been privileged to have booked BR5-49 (in its original line-up) and later versions, brilliant musicians and great guys on and off stage. I am in the UK not the USA..This format performed on the Americana International Festival several times and drew great audiences and excellent reviews in the UK music publications.

I love this, a lot of talent onstage, I am a fan of BR549 and can hardly hold still listening to this, it happens that one of the band members is a hometown boy named Gary Bennett who lives just up the road, Gary had been performing with his band the Coat Tail Riders locally untill the covid thing, but has been recording new material in his home studio and hopefully will be back doing shows around town again soon, nice guy and love their music! 🎸🎵🎶

Chuck's D string is tuned awful low! It's flapping in the wind. Dig the Bob Scratitto "Rock The Joint" riff from Bill Haley and the Saddlemen's 1952 Essex version of Jimmy Preston's 1949 original. The exact lick was used two years later for the 1954 "Rock around The Clock" smash hit. This shit makes me wanna quit working and play my guitar all day!
