🤗🥰😋 Always full steam ahead of Mikael to leave us under pressure 👍 the Series 52 produced since 1942 is a simplification of the pre-war Series 50. The design simplicity of the 52 series has accelerated the pace of production by eliminating or simplifying almost 1000 existing parts out of the 7000 that comprise a 50 series. Under the nickname of KDL1 (KriegsDampfLok 1). 3rd Reich propaganda integrated into mass production. It was produced in all the countries annexed by Nazi Germany. Despite the uncertainty of machine numbers, mass destruction, wartime losses and repairs to the Soviet Union, the 52 series remains the world's largest production to date. Germany had the largest post-war stock of over 2,400 locomotives after World War II. After the end of the war, until 1951, more than 360 locomotives were completed in the factories from existing parts. Around 200 units (52.80 series) were also rebuilt in East Germany and used until the 1980s. Although intended for wartime use only, many locomotives remained in service for over 50 years.

Another special feature of the 52 series and the rebuilt 52.80 series is the closed cab due to harsh European winters.
