In this episode, discover Brabham and Goodyear’s history together from winning the Formula One World Championship in 1966 through to the release of the new Brabham BT62R.
In 1966, Jack Brabham and Goodyear won the Formula One World Championship. It was an incredible moment in history - the first time anyone had won a Formula One World Championship with his own construction.
Not only that, but it was also Goodyear’s first Formula One title. Goodyear’s partnership with Brabham continued to be successful, with 26 Grand Prix wins over three decades. And as David Brabham notes in this video, tyres are probably the most important part of the car.
More recently, the Brabham BT62 launched as the ultimate track car using Goodyear’s Eagle F1 SuperSport tyres. Debuting at Brands Hatch in the 2019 Britcar ‘Into the Night’ race, Brabham and Goodyear won once again.
So, what’s next for Brabham and Goodyear?

@@blacktoothfox677 Gordon Murray is considering a one-make pro/am for his GMA T.50/T.50S Niki Lauda and there is still a slim chance that Brabham might try and take the BT-62 to Le Mans, but it is extremely unlikely that we will be seeing these cars duke it out in Le Mans or the current Le Mans, endurance or GT categories. They'd have to massively gimp the cars, increase weight, reduce power and basically redesign half the car to meet regs. So far there has been no announcement that a new race series is in the works that would allow these cars to realistically race, and FIA has changed the LMH rules to that of a cheaper, watered down LMP1 formula that is inline with LMDh regs and basically a side-step from LMP2.

I'm a bit curious if you're aware of the GT Cup Championship. Cause for now they have a brabham . Did you know that? The Brabham BT-62 is racing in the British GT Cup Championship. Though I don't know what will happen next season. Maybe we'll get the 2015 Daytona Prototype treatment. Cause I'm still crying over the Daytona Coyote Corvette

Hopefully we might see it downunder for the Bathurst 12 hour. Already broke the lap record with Luke Youlden at the helm I believe. Recently broke the lap record at Phillip Island when Tim Slade did a time of 1 minute 24 seconds.
