I don't know if you are going to reply this but I'll write it anyway, I got my braces done almost 3 years ago, I've always thought that I have overbite i asked my first dentist to remove my premolars but she said I don't need that procedure after 2 year I changed my dentist I asked my new dentist to remove my premolars too and she said I don't need that, unfortunately my dentist had to give birth so I I was referred to another dentist and she suggested that I must remove my premolars!! Cuz I have a very noticeable overbite!! After 3 years of treatment and wasting my money over nothing!! I'm so sad about that I'm not even young I'm 26 years old and I am a teacher I use my mouth all the time It's hard to face my students with no teeth! I'm currently wearing braces for the second time. The first time was when I was 13 to 16 years old, and I had four teeth extracted during that period. However, my teeth didn't look nice, so I'm wearing braces for the second time. It's been three years now, and my midline still hasn't shifted to the correct place. I developed a gummy smile after wearing braces, and the dentist told me it may have happened because I have an overbite, which I didn't notice earlier. Now, after correcting it, the issue is showing. At first, my dentist said he couldn't correct my midline 100% now he saying it can correct 100%. A few months back, I had septorhinoplasty, and he mentioned that my midline shifted, requiring me to restart the treatment. Not to forget, he trimmed my teeth on my left side a lot saying that there is no space and now I can't eat on my left side. He said after finishing the treatment, he will put a crown so I won't feel sensitive. I'm unsure if the treatment he's giving is correct. Initially, for my midline, he focused on my nose, but when I told him my nose is crooked, he said he's now following my forehead. When I asked why the treatment needs to start again, he didn't give proper response..whe I asked the midline u followed my forhead or my nose he said both.. I'm questioning if my septorhinoplasty can really impact my midline, and if he's providing me with the correct treatment. When I asked to treat my gummy smile, he keeps saying it's not needed and suggests laser treatment. I mentioned TADs, recommended by his specialist in one appointment, but in the next appointment, he gave me some excuses, mentioning that I didn't meet the specialist. Please help me; am I with the wrong dentist for the second time? And the gummy smile can appear during braces treatment ? I am 27 now

Are you being treated by a certified orthodontist? Midline corrections and gummy smile corrections need an orthodontist with a level of expertise which comes through experience. So I suggest you first find an orthodontist. Midline is determined by center of forehead and upper lip. Dental midline should pass through a line correcting the above 2 points. But a deviation of 2mm is not noticeable. So if your deviation is within 2mm u need not worry actually.. assessment of gummy smile needs a clinical evaluation. I suggest you have an expert opinion with orthodontist

I don't think it's normal. I asked kriss about what you said, and it says that your lower teeth going inside could indicate a crossbite, your upper teeth going outside could indicate an overjet or a crossbite, and the middle of your teeth should not be misaligned. You should def get that checked out with an orthodontist!

No. It appears like that because photography. First photo was taken with mobile phone. Second photo was taken with DSLR with a macro lense and ring flash. Ring flash generates uniform light giving flat appearance. Best representation of face can be obtained with a combination of strobe light and reflector combination. It’s difficult to take such photos in dental clinic. So generally faces look flat in our DSLR photos
