With Tiger we really didnt get to do a lot of research on Invisalign for her, she had some severe dental problem and we went to multiple specialist for almost a year. At one point we thought she may have major surgery and when we were told that she wouldn't have to have major surgery and that braces (along with some other recommendations) would be the best for her we were happy. It was scary to think she may have to have surgery as a parent.

You'll have to keep an eye on the kids' wisdom teeth. I had quite a bit of work done when all my baby teeth had gone only to have my wisdom teeth push everything forward when I was in college and had no dental coverage. Had them removed, but still have some issues all these years later.

Me too. The wisdom teeth came in as a young adult and screwed everything up. I got them removed in my late twenties, but the damage was done 😞

Panda Invisaligns are not really painful. More pressure than anything. Make sure you brush and floss well.

I imagine Tiger's teeth were more difficult to improve the look of and the more "severe" case would change faster with braces. I think Invisalign is less "forceful."

I felt really pressured during a consultation to put my son in braces ASAP. I never returned because after doing some research on the process I thought it was overkill for just an overbite. Brushing and flossing would be a pain and his food would be restricted. Even after 2 years or so of wearing them he would need to wear a retainer indefinitely! A different orthodontist was less urgent but also only talked about braces. I’ve known kids as young as 7 who have had Invisalign and would consider it. It was even suggested to double as a night guard for teeth grinding. The problem would be having to take it out and clean it during meals. I asked my dentist as a kid in the early 1990s if they had clear braces to fix my teeth. They laughed at me. Looks like I was ahead of my time. I was 13 and refused to get them. My mother didn’t push back and all of the terrible things they said would happened if I didn’t get them never came true.
