Bracken Man is a very earthy, soily, damp, dank dark green fougere. Your description of the soil and patchouli is spot on. This scent is as if it has the (imaginary) verdant green of the Fern frond itself but also the roots if the fern were pulled out of the ground with the soil and mud were still clinging to the roots. They could have named this frag Jimmy Hoffa's Resting Place because this fragrance smells like a mob hit body dumping ground. That is, a marsh or swamp. Lol. It's very artsy and well done. Very similar to Houbigant Fougere Royale 2010 as you say, but even more earthy. Very realistic. So therefore it is very much a classic fougere, albeit with extra earthiness.

@@willbuesseler8739 i will say interlude very dark smokey inscence but that was the first fragerance that got me into amouge you only need max 3 sprays becuae if more you or people around you will get a head ache its very strong all the amouages are

Amouage is my favorite perfume house. The funny thing is that you named 4 that are your least favorite. And those happen to be my 4 favorites in this order: 1-GOLD 2-DIA 3-CIEL 4-Silver. The only Amouage I don't care about is Reflection, which happens to be one of your favorites🤣🤣 I own all of them but Reflection.

Good review as always. I got my sample from LuckScent the other day, and I have been wearing it for a few days. The "soil" notes merges with something green and some added sweetness from the clove that is really likable.

Love this, it reminds me a bit of church, Catholic church that is, aaah smoky a bit sweet, and it reminds me of a cabin in the rockies, smoke but not overwhelming, a winner!

Nothing like either Polo Green or Bois du Portugal. Very similar to Houbigant Fougere Royale 2010 but earthier.

I'm coming a little late to this but I am loving Bracken. I do get a very immediate citrus hit but that goes quickly to nutmeg then very strongly to clove. I think I'll get a bigger sample and use it now that the colder days are here.

Bracken man smells like an old woodshed full of nutmeg. There isn't a whole lot to describe about this fragrance as it retains it's consistent scent from start to finish. Perfect for cavemen but not for me.....and I consider myself a caveman

I tried it in the shop: the beginning was promising, but in the dry down to me it's a strong pointless almost generic fougère. It seems Amouage has lost its magic since the release of Memoir or Interlude Man.

Who can afford these colognes? Even if I was rich I'm probly not spending 400 on a bottle . I've had 20 dollar bottles smell better . I get more compliments when I wear Tommy Bahamas St Bart's then when I wear Blue De Chanel . Crazy but true .
