Bon Appétit’s Brad and Claire are back for a very special crossover episode (Part 1!) of It’s Alive. Claire says they’re making doughnuts with sourdough starter. Brad’s trying to make “sourdoughnuts” a thing. Who will win? You will: this episode had so many good Brad and Claire moments that we had to make it two parts.
*Correction, let's make that three parts.
Join Bon Appétit Test Kitchen host Brad Leone on a wild, roundabout, and marginally scientific adventure exploring fermented foods and more. From cultured butter and kombucha, kimchi and miso, to beer and tepache, learn how to experiment with fermented and live foods yourself.

Now we know what killed Claire. It wasn't the starbursts, it was making the starbursts while simultaneously collabing with Brad

Claire pretends to be annoyed at times with Brad but I can tell she really loves working with him. This is the class prefectionist working with the class clown and realizing he actually knows what he is doing. I think Claire really likes the permission to act a little goofy that she gets while working with Brad.

@@MsArana Ah ok. I love Gaby and I'm glad she's doing more videos. I just feel like by calling it multicultural, you end up putting this emphasis of 'other' on Gaby, if you know what I mean :) Like everything that isn't white or American becomes ethnic? That's all. As a minority, I hate being wedged in like that. My ethnicity and my religion will always be important parts of my identity but if I'm a chef, or a writer, or a visual artist, I want to be known as that without always having the modifier or the pressure that what I do represents all aspects of my culture or the idea of multiculturalism. @roadie3124
@roadie3124 4 жыл бұрын
But Claire doesn't get it right. It's a soft o as in "soft', not a hard o as in "hole". Somewhere in America, there's a special language school that teaches Americans how to mispronounce words from other languages. There are similar schools in most English-speaking countries. In Australia we have a graduate school for bad pronunciation that's attended by sports presenters. When a specialist tennis commentator can't be bothered to pronounce a competitor's name correctly, I just think that it's very bad manners. I had a brilliant French teacher in primary school. His mother was French and he spent all his summer holidays in France refreshing his accent. My first mother-in-law was Italian from Italy. She and her daughter taught me about Italian pronunciation. The English O sound grates.
