in the 19th/20th minute in the video he explains what he means by "dark side". In fact, as we found out, he told a lot and we only wanted to interrupt him with a few questions. And what you noticed, we also noticed. It seems that he feels left out (by the Estate? just a conjecture) and it is a concern for him to clarify his role to the fans who have forgotten him.
@chazbayley Жыл бұрын
@@jackson-ch you get a lot of this ego issue in music. If you listen to people like boxer talking about his working process with Michael whilst Michael still alive, he is far more complimentary of the fact that Michael was the creative director and buxer was being used as a tool like a musicianship tool in order for Michael to express his ideas from his mind into music by singing what he hears in his head, however, since Michael has been dead, people like buxer, try to take more credit in the writing process, for what their role actually was, because now there’s no Michael to be fearful of by, twisting the truth, or bending the facts telling little lies in order to boost your own ego own sense of importance. Even the great Quincy Jones falls into this category. However, the only difference with Quincy is he wasn’t bothered trying his luck even while Jackson was alive. Jackson was responsible for some of the greatest most iconic songs of all time which, as we all know through research now, essentially landed on Quincy’s lap. Vocally arranged 90% of what you hear on the final album was in the original home demos before Quincy even heard the songs.

It is well known that Michael was not confrontational and had a hard time saying "no" to people. It's clear to me that due to Michael's upbringing, characterized by strict authoritarianism and physical abuse, he was never allowed to say "no" or be confrontational. His early belief system made him feel that he didn't matter and had to obey. Later in life, when he could have made conscious decisions, his brain automatically reverted to his trauma response. That cycle is hard to break. Despite his strict upbringing, Michael was very revolutionary and stood up for justice and peace. For him, it was easier to express himself musically rather than personally.

I don't think Brad truly understood Michael, saying he had a dark side because he personally couldn't tell someone he was unhappy with them but instead would get Bruce to tell them , simply shows Michael didn't do well with confrontation, why ???? Probably because that's what he grew up with , he couldn't tell his father that he disagreed him, his father was a monster, his brothers who he loved would out vote him on ideas he had for the band, and as for Tommy mottola from Sony, why shouldn't he speak up against him, look what Sony did to him. So brad, your a great guy, really, but it's not fair to say Michael had a dark side , the dark side is what the media, people and the monsters did to him. We have all been there, it's called hurt, he was only human, brad could have expressed this in a nicer way, dark side , sorry I just don't agree 🙏

Yes, you are right. Michael was raised by a strict authoritarian, he never had a chance to learn to say ""no", he learned that he had to be perfect, to function to do it right for his father. He was not allowed to do any kind of confrontation. Michael internalized the voice of his father. You are absolutely right, it was wrong to say that this was his dark side, because Michael was physically, emotionally and mentally abused. Many people who were victimized can't stand up for themself, it leaves internally scars. That wasn't his dark side, Michael was emotionally wounded.

Because they were always evolving (and never stopped) in the first place! PLUS they learned, knew, and realized according to the contracts that any recording that had the word, "DEMO", written on it was NOT ALLOWED to be released by the record company or whomever! So, what did he and they do to make sure the songs never got released without his permission?!! They wrote, "DEMO", on EVERY SINGLE recording!!! Listen...I straight up don't believe them saying nothing else is finished. They HAVE to be strategic with what they release and when! Its now on record and in history that MJ was a producer, writer and arranger of his own songs the big hits.
