That's not what I meant, it was a symbolic metaphor. The team that Brad felt betrayed him is the same team he had to beat for his first Cup championship. There's a certain symbolic meaning in there that you haven't quite grasped.

Kind of reminds me of how his Joey Logano got to Penske. Both of them drove for good teams early in their careers but then we're only offered full time rides in the Xfinity series when older drivers were either were going to the team or were getting contract extensions. They both didn't want to be in the Xfinity series and then Rodger Penske came along and gave them a chance.

I still don't know why Hendrick went with Mark Martin over Brad. Mark was 51 at the time and was only going to be around for a couple more years. Probably the stupidest decision he ever made but he made up for it with signing Chase Elliott. :)

As we all know HMS likes to hire drivers who are both good drivers and good people (having class and driving clean). Brad might have the 1st part, but never the 2nd part. Just like they got rid of Kyle Busch 'cause Kyle didn't have his shit together. Mark had talent, had his shit together and raced clean, so that makes an easy choice for HMS.

@falloutboy9424
@falloutboy9424 3 жыл бұрын
Internally both the drivers Jeff and Jimme and Rick knew Kyle wasn't ready to fit what Rick viewed as a professional driver. He was pretty immature and was alot more diffucult to work with in the garage. Hendrick didnt like that. Jeff talked about it with Jr in an interview, not sure if it was his podcast. As far as Brad im not quite sure what happened there tbh I never saw him as a candidate for Hendricks full time rides, but definitely for other rides.
@sergeantmasson3669
@sergeantmasson3669 2 жыл бұрын
@@lesbratton5411 Kyle Busch has always been an arrogant anus and he always will be. Things always must be his way or his short fuse toddler level temper lets loose. Rick Hendrick got really angry with KB when he left the track while his HMS car was being repaired well enough to re-enter the race. Dale Jr was asked to climb into the car to finish the race. Soon afterwards, KB was let go from HMS and replaced with Dale Jr. That's two major NASCAR teams that don't want KB. I'm still surprised that JGR still tolerates KB's crap. NASCAR should've booted Kyle Busch out long ago. He's reckless/dangerous with a nasty temper. He's not much better on public roads either. He's been nailed for excessive speed and careless/reckless driving more than once The last time, he gave the state trooper a bunch of his usual foul mouth lip service. That got him some "cooling-off" time in a holding cell. An ADA later let him out with an ROR and a simple desk appearance ticket.

I feel like Brad has experienced humbling events in his recent career. He used to sound like he was all that. Too new, in my opinion to best "all that." His driving record and his appreciation for the chance to shine has shown me (a 50 year fan of NASCAR) that he actually IS all that now. Now i feel like he's a real Adult like professional who's desire is on fire. Once again, Roger Penske, an excellent driver himself, signed a winningRace Car. Roger knew Brad was the real deal when he signed him to drive for "Penske Racing." So... My opinion has changed about how i feel about Brad Keselowski Now i am a Brad fan because he IS "All That." Good Luck this coming season Brad. Lets all root for MY first Choice and have Jimmie Johnson become the ONLY driver with Eight (8) Championships in his Career. REALLY?? That would be awesome! I've always been a JR. fan, really stopped following the sport after all the rule changes, the stages and all... But, I do enjoy watching Chase Elliott run well, see how Jimmie is doing, and Brad too. That has always been my wife's favorite driver, it would be really cool to see him in the 48.

To bad he didn't get the 5 in 2010 but let's be honest are all 4 Hendricks cars good? especially the fourth car? Sure mark had a special season in 09 but 2010 wasn't. Brad going to Penske just added more talent in the cup garage. Now in 17 he's already a champion and one of the best drivers.

Winning in NASCAR is about more than just the car. You have the crew chief, the crew, the driver and the car. Kasey Kahne isn't as good as any of the other HMS drivers.

Sounds like Hendrick re-signing Mark Martin was always a possibility. Otherwise Brad would have had a signed deal with Hendrick -- not just an understanding. Looks like things worked out OK for Brad in the end.

Basically Brad just like Lagono just are middle of their careers and seeing Hass racing being the top Ford team is hard. Brad in truth is just not a Hendrick type driver; IMO. Lagano was the next Gordon and Johnson when he came to cup series ; but just hasn't panned out. Now both see the young dogs come up ;which isn't easy I am sure. Brad and Lagono are two different type drivers or at least they were.

I think B-Rad made a good decision in going to Penske. Mr. H made a mistake. Jus sayin. It’s about time Roger had himself a couple championship drivers. I don’t care who ya are. If your an honest genuine fan of the sport, You’d gives credit where it’s due.
