Super honored to have worked on this episode, uncovering and amplifying the revolutionary work of this great American unsung hero. When discussing or celebrating disability rights and history, people /must/ know the name, Brad Lomax!

i needed to see this now. I've been disabled due to an autoimmune illness since 1994. I've always had issues with getting accomodations at work. This inspired me to keep fighting

So my mom was a participant in the 1977 city hall occupation. Her name is Denise Darensbourg. I learned about Lima’s in the book “Being Heumann.” I thought how dope it was that the panthers came to the aid of the protesters and fed them every single night. I also learned a lot about his duality. His intersections are truly interesting. He knows what it’s like to be black and disabled. He merged the two worlds together
