Last two times suspended were both on "reputation", and one suspension happened after he answered a question on rude Canadian fans, saying they go after their kids in schools. The other suspension happened when he publicly criticized NHL for not allowing players to participate in Olympics. Most folks don't know how much Marchand tweets - other team's fans don't - so they can't connect the dots. For kicks & giggles, I started actually reading player safety reports - they're based on "reputation" 75% of the time. Coach's can't criticize NHL, refs, nor speak truth. Player safety bring in about $25-32 mil in fines each year that's supposed to go to players safety. But the teams end of forfeiting the funds, to go into the NHL "Foundation" of discretionary funds. Nobody follows the money - NHL is a BUSINESS, profits and money first. They'll cash in on any player's reputation they can. Not just the lil Ratt. I lived about 4 hours north of where he grew up. Always blood on the ice, 12 year old girls could board USA college hockey players.

Marchy is a great guy to have on your team. Crazy that the leafs stars get nearly 2x the Aav he has. But Marchand refused to take more money than Bergeron, who was already signed at a massive discount. Just an ideal player to have on your team. I hope he stays dominant long enough to get paid what he deserves.

I don't see him as a serious coach. - first, you can't teach what he does lol! And he's a business man - he's got a sporting good company "March & Mill", with Kevan Miller, they have a clothing line, a hunting lodge, do videos on expeditions, fishing, hunting, etc. Sometimes bring other players along. They started it during the pandemic, it sorts fizzled, but its back up and running, Bear hunting at their lodge, etc. I don't see him mature enough to be a coach - I like him the way he is!

After coming back a month early from dbl hip surgery, he has been playing excellent but has also been cool headed. I like the Marshy that doesn't take stupid penalties but enjoy watching him every which way he plays.

as a leafs fan, i love this. marchand is the player you love to hate and want on your team. other than the leafs i hope the bruins win the stanley cup because when your captain takes 2.5 mil he's there to play hockey. what worries me about the leafs is that they consistently lose to weaker opponents, they coast because of their skill but don't step up when they have to.

Leaf’s have great players but aren’t physical enough and it will show again. Hard clean checks make decision making more difficult and usually are a must for contenders . Boston is the fifth oldest team in the league but are the most regimented in their play so hats off to them.

As a Leaf fan - the hard part is Marchand is just telling the truth & not really trolling our Leafs. So until the Leafs can just focus on playing well & trying to win games against Tampa & the Bruins - then Marchand continues to look like a real star. In the Canes dominating performance over the Bruins Marchand went to the penalty box. When he did the Canes stadium DJ played a clip of the Smashing Pumpkins song Bullet with Butterfly Winds over the stadium loudspeakers that says "Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage". It was EPIC!!!! LMAO!!! As the Bruins left the ice, they also flashed a statement stating "Last win at PNC Arena - May 15, 2019" which was pretty on point too. I hope the Leafs extending the Bruins losing streak to four.

Well you also have the number of players on Boston that are going UFA etc aka the "Last dance" mentality to it for this season... it's not his fault the Leaf fans bring up their past mistakes and allow it to haunt them as the "calls on the ice were bad" We all know where the Bruins fall into the post season schedule.
