As a huge Bruins fan (I played high school hockey in the early seventies), I have to say, I know hockey can be a very rough game, indeed, but I also know what my Dad taught me about sportsmanship; this ain't it. A lot of that behavior on display is being a punk. Some of this is downright dangerous, and could severely injure somebody. These are people's careers, and if somebody clocked him into next Wednesday, I wouldn't blame them at all. You don't need that little extra; finish the check hard, yes, but you don't have to get dirty about it.

This is the problem trying to have the refs (through penalties) and the league (through fines and suspensions) try to protect the players. You get guys like Marchand, Lucic, Dustin Brown, Raffi Torres, Sean Avery, and Darcy Tucker. I'd love to say that in the "old days" when players were allowed to police themselves, this didn't happen. But that is NOT true. There have ALWAYS been players like Marchand (and there always will be). Back when the players could "take care of things" on the ice you still had guys like Bobby Clarke, Ken Linesman, Mark Messier, Dale Hunter, Ulf Samuelson and Claude Lemieux. (You can probably guess my age from that list.). BTW: Best thing the league every did for Sean Avery was to suspend him BEFORE his game against the Flames after his "sloppy seconds" comment. The NHL should made him play against Phaneuf, then fined and suspended him.

For instance getting Justin Williams to lose his cool a few years ago in the play-offs. Pointing to the Pbox & telling him he's supposed to be the Captain. My absolute favorite is when he stepped on Cam Aitikens stick & broke it. Cam had a 4 game goal scoring streak going at the time & that probably was his "lucky" stick! I LMFAO at that! That kind of stuff I can watch all day. I'm a goalie & love playing that kind of stuff! Gets the players right off their game.

@@briancorcoran2432 Saying he doesn't do that stuff anymore does not excuse it all. That's like saying "Detective, I USED to murder people, but I don't do it anymore, so what's the big deal?" But it doesn't matter though because he still does that stuff! Every game I watch of him, he's still doing the same scummy, dangerous things he's always been doing, even after like 7 suspensions. Yes, I will say what I want. It is entertaining for people of similar character as that rat. Marchand's vicious mentality is so low class. And now, the Bruins have made that rat their captain. If he doesn't sober up, he'll teach a whole generation of younger players to become vicious like him. So, the Bruins better have very good special teams because their gonna get a lot of penalties. I wouldn't necessarily say for the most part, but a lot of these are clean hits or incidentals that happen every game, but it's Marchand so people blindly assume it's intentional every time.

Yep they would all love Marshand on their team. Look at Toronto in these playoffs they are throwing out Bunting to take out players nearly every game. Canadian hockey fans are such little babies. They literally called 911 on Chara. This year Toronto fans are doxing refs. That means they are threatening refs and their families, they want to talk about Brad Marshand lol. Fucjing weak ass cowards. I mean they keep voting in Trudeau who is stealing their freedoms it seems every week.

I’ll say this. I’m going to assume professional hockey players can handle their sticks like we handled rifles in the Army. Better than our own skin rifles. Literally part of our body. So I don’t see how you accidentally put the curve of your stick exactly in between someone’s legs to sack tap someone perfectly with the flat side. It was a hilarious perfect sack tap. The kind that is not an accident. Not when you’re literally a professional. That’s like accidentally firing a weapon. How? This is literally our profession. We do this better than ANYONE. Literally some of the best in the world. You can ask but I don’t think you’re gonna find the losers. 😂. They uhhh retired from the league so to speak.

@@christianirish3691 points and skill have nothing to do with how dirty a player is. Claude lemieux was a good player and won multiple cups and is one of the greatest playoff performers of all time. Does that exonerate his dirty play? Absolutely not. Only dumb people would come up with an irrational excuse like that. Brad marchand is the most suspended player in NHL history! Way more suspensions than cooke. But, he’s a bruin and he can score goals so anyone who hates him only hates him because he is a good player. Riiiiight. Makes total sense. Too much jack edwards has warped young bruin fans minds. Yikes…

No you wouldn’t lol. Bruins fans love our marchy. Yes he does have tendencies to play dirty - but actually not this season once has he done that - but don’t act like there aren’t other pests in the NHL. For example Corey Perry, Tyler Bertuzzi, Brendan Gally, and many many more. Marchand just takes the most heat because the NHL loves to hate the bruins.
