He is right in that you wouldn't have needed as many applications if you used a proper used formula and applied it properly/saturated your hair is his point at the 13:00 or so mark. Also liquid developer of the appropriate strength should still work but his point is the thickness needed for good bleach application and a formula that won't dry out is better achieved with cream developer. In any case it ended up looking good even though I'm sure it was torture haha
